1. Stopped the dechlorinator and I love BRS but those systems aren't cheap... guess that's next on the list. Just bought an ATO. 2.stopped the phyto and won't coral feed 3.photo period is now at 8hrs per day(sound about right?)the lights are 2 AI hydras from 2013 4 groups of LEDs each. The lights run at 60% max. 4. Did this and it worked great 5. I did a large amount of omega flake food every 2 days now at 1x per day small pinch I have added Kent supplemental nutrients once every month, but only in the last 2 months. I have fed mysis, reef roids, Krill, and brine shrimp before, but not often. Nothing likes the reef roids so I don't anymore. Phyto was probably the main addition of nutrients. Like 1 tbs every 4 days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I stopped phyto and declorinator. I thought declorinator was normal. Came with the tank and was told to use it. The rodi system has all the filters. Tank is only 4 months old but could the filters be done? TDS Meyer is next on the shopping list and I just removed MASSIVE amounts of algae in a pretty clever way. Took my fish net and turkey baster, sucked up all the algae on the rocks and in the water then squirted it into the fish net. Worked like a charm. I'm also on a once per day feeding schedule now. Mine just coats the reef roids in slime and releases it into the water... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Things I should account for: -idk tds in rodi water -how much phyto I should dose for feather dusters, coral, and the porcelain crab, rather than approximating -too little live rock? 25 lbs of pukani(started dry) for a 36 gallon tank that is 27 gallon display and 9 gallon back panel, only have a pair of clowns and small sixline -I don't feed fish often but not really on a schedule -tunze 9001 skimmer works amazingly -i have a hard time separating detritus from the sand(get rid of it?its aragonite) but regularly remove algae Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

-Running GFO in a Filter sock in a nano tumbler so phosphate is unreadable -mg more than 1600 -ca 480 -alk 5.6 dKh -Nitrate less than 5 more than 0 (best its ever been) -tank is 4 months old since cycling -use a cheap rodi system and fluval declorinator I have small spots of hair algae on the back wall and on a mariculture zoa rock and, ironically, my magnetic algae scraper. There is red cyano everywhere and green, film-like algae too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not a traditional "iPhone lens addition" kind of thing it's just an old telescope lens that I lost the telescope to so I tried taping it to my phone to recreate those nice zoomed in shots that people make of all the tiny stuff in their tanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks. Took them with that lens I had lying around and my phone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

An idea: palytoxin information sheets
mari.harutunian replied to mari.harutunian's topic in General Discussion
Children are most definitely not the only people effected by palytoxin poisoning. Most people are effected, while taking every precaution, but still somehow inhaling it when fragging- especially with bandsaws. This is not just a "caution- wet floor" kind of mindless and common warning, it's a "hey ER doctor I've been poisoned by an incredibly potent poison and this is what you need to know" so that people poisoned don't have to waste time printing it out before going to get emergency care-like people who have diabetic tattoos. But a tattoo would be ridiculous, so it's just a sheet of paper stored where you choose. Then for those that are just starting out, like me, they can have a nice info and precaution sheet. If you don't want it, don't have it. If it doesn't help prevent or help in the case of palytoxin, then oh well. But if this helps even one person then I'll consider it a success. You don't have to be young and unsuspecting to poison yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
An idea: palytoxin information sheets

All great ideas! If it's Velcro and not magnet it can be placed just about anywhere. I was thinking lamination so if it was by the tank it could avoid water damage. They could use it as a direction sheet for safety precautions too. I was thinking full sheet because it could fit a lot of information front and back. Front and back lamination of 100lb glossy paper is 50¢ per page and very durable. The company I found sends out a free test page too to make sure it's the right look. I'll add all those points to my list when I get home. If anyone has anymore suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! For you, by you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Palytoxin poisoning doesn't occur very often, but when it does, the poisoned individuals usually have to print an info sheet and bring it to the ER to inform their doctors while being dangerously and extremely sick. I was thinking I could design and order an info sheet that will be laminated and can Velcro to the inside of a cabinet/ wall/ flat surface. It would have general info, early symptoms, safety precautions, what a doctor should do, modes of inhalation/exposure, and anything else you guys think would be important. 1. Good idea? Yay or nay? 2. Free w/ optional donation? Just free? Or paid? 3. You guys are more experienced than me so have any info/advice? All input appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
