  1. Awesome tank! I'm also trying out chemipure elite. Tank still isn't clean though... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Also someone is selling a 12.5 pico with a nice stand in the forums Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I have the fluval marine 90(36 gallon) and I used the fluval sea 2.0 reef light and I did not like it. I had to turn it on and off manually and the timers are additional money and don't work very well. I've also seen the light that fits over their 5 gallon tank and with the wifi module it has a good timer but the LEDs and heat sink are much the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It's a little hard to tell, but if there are eye stalks, it is Florida fighting conch, if not it's a mud whelk... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Looks like it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Welcome! There are quite a few for sale threads up right now in the members only section so if you're not already a member, it's definitely worth the $20 to become one. That's a gorgeous tank!! Hope you enjoy MD! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That's an awesome feeder!!! Love the bubbles in the plastic. I think I'm misunderstanding a bit, but does this move the mysis? Or is it just holding it? My sea horses seem prefer eating when the mysis moves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Was thinking of making a spherical container that slowly moves mysis and has a hitching posts inside. I currently just put mysis ina glass ball and move water in it with a turkey baster for my seahorses and it is 10x better than broadcast feeding mysis or bowl feeding but still tedious as they are slow feeders. Also glass seems to confuse them sometimes but I want to make sure they feed... Is this doable? I've seen regular bowl seahorse feeders go for $100-$150 which I find ridiculous... 14. Is it illegal to collect invertebrates and put them in your tank?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I've been snorkeling in the Dominican and in Mexico by Cancun. The Dominican is rather sparse as far as corals go but they have some cool fish. I think I remember a lot of sea fans too. I saw some kind of lone hunting fish that I forget the name of. There were also amberjacks the size of dinner plates swimming with you by the shore. Not the best place to snorkel, but since that was the first place I went, it was amazing to me. In Mexico I snorkeled at the place where salt and freshwater meet & there are caves. The top o the water is cold and underneath is toasty warm. You could see the salt and fresh water mix. Since I kept diving to reach the hot tub water, my guide took me to a black angel fish and told me to hold out my hand to it. It bit me lol. I'm reminded of this every time I put my hands in the tank because a certain clown fish has it out for me. Again, not many corals, but a metric ton of fish everywhere of many many different kinds. 18. I'm not a good enough actor lol and this tank will be my third tank and second salt tank. The freshwater tank looks like a total wreck too. Just finished a 60% water change as well as switching out all filters, hand removing algae, and testing all water parameters. Idk whats wrong! Thing grows algae like crazy and it has zero ammonia, nitrite, and Nitrate, lots of plants, and the fish keep dying. Have lost 3 rosy barbs, 1 cardinal tetra, and a Cory... The only reason this new tank is happening is because she loves seahorses :-) Should've took a before shot... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have no sumps! I bought an AIO because I thought it actually meant "all in one" but it really means "waste of money rip off" and "you're going to have to pay way more for this on top of all the equipment you're going to have to buy too". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah I just really want a frag tank and my family wants me to have 0 tanks lol. But drop off is definitely the way I'd want to go for my seahorses. They're currently in my reef with all the stinging corals sequestered and ready to be traded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. 1. Do you guys think a drop off tank could be a frag tank on the top level and a seahorse tank in the front? Separated with egg crate? Or would that be weird/ugly? 2. Anyone recommend any tanks/setups/layouts for frags & seahorse display? 3. Should I plumb a frag tank into the spare closet? Is this difficult/expensive? 4. Best way to get my mom to not kill me because of this new setup? (She doesn't like algae...or spending money) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Get little pieces of rock from different people who have different creatures. Doesn't have to be a lot. Like I have tons of orange and clear tunicates, some kind of oysters, cleaner clams, pods, and the occasional red brittle(got them from pacific east as a hitchhiker). Recently I just saw a huge stomatella too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I just made it again. Please delete. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. How do I get this out of general discussion? :-( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I'm looking for large, easy gorgonians, leathers, hitching posts, easy sea fans, and macro algaes. Located in Howard county, MD. Would prefer to meet up at river hill village center. -I have a large red fancy brittle star that is about 6-8" on each arm. Good cleanup crew. Probably ate my feather duster though. Hard to get a picture of more than a single arm. http://m.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+528+2228&pcatid=2228 -a large green hairy mushroom- don't have a pic yet but it opens up to about 3" diameter. May have to come with a rock. -spongodes mini colony(~3"x3")- grows very fast. Aggressive coral. -spongodes frag -reluctant to sell or trade, but might- pacific east torch coral. One head, yellow tips, pink tentacles & 3 heads of super green torch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
