    Turn them down. If there mushed down flat there too intense. Start low and work your way up until the zoas stop reaching for the light and look like a natural position. But It may not even be light at all.

    How old is your bulb and how dirty is your reflector? melev did an excellent write up on how PAR can get affected on metal halide. http://www.melevsreef.com/par_readings.html He got massive PAR increases just by cleaning reflectors and replacing bulb.

    Also a 20l is only 13" wide so you sould not have much deviation back to front on PAR

    Still seems a bit low but I don't see many people do PAR results using 150w's so it may be in the ballpark...but electricity and heat wise I would say you could get a little better results from a led fixture if your trying to get a little more PAR and consistent PAR. IMO it's not enough par especially if your trying to do any sps's

    It could be high nitrates and phosphates. LPS will Will peel way from skeletons which high nitrates and phos. What were are your nitrates and phosphates. High isn't constant high to me could not be high to you

    We need some of happyfeet questions I don't think the problem lies within the lighting.

    How has your water quality been with the 5 fish and what are they? How often do you do water changes?

    1. Lighting is solely bias. I run 12h sunrise/sunset cycle shouldn't run more that 8-10h of daylight. 2. A tank that small kalk shouldn't be needed unless Sps dominated. Frequent water changes will suffice with what you have. 3. I'm still not quite sure of your lighting setup.

    Ditto plan on getting same pump....I believe the newest version..dct-6000 has 10 settings as well as a few other changes

    You could sanwich them with 2×10's and run carriage bolts thought.and if in doubt us those basement steel basement jacks. I'm assuming that's a basement underthere. But all this said "I DON'T DRIVE TRAINS" ( ENGINEER) lol
