  1. Sure I can pick it up as well with the supplements. Will pm you. Thanks.
  2. I finally managed to catch the fish last Sunday using a 500 ml plastic bottle...I should say it was unexpected and a lucky catch...miss my fish though.
  3. How long should I soak them in muriatic acid?
  4. Okay so here is what I did. 1. Let it sit outside for 3 weeks...under sun...but of course mostly cold weather. All the algae seemed to have died. 2. Soaked overnight in a mixture of venigar and water. 3. Scrubbed the rock with a brush...most of the debri came off. 4. Power rinsed the rock. 5. Soaked in hot clean tap water for 2 days. 6. Planning to soak them in salt water for half a day before putting them into my tank. Live rock pretty much turned like dry rock now...whats the possibility for any kind of algae or life still surviving in this rock? Any more suggestions?
  5. Me too!
  6. I totally agree with this comment on Marco@ERC. They value customers opinions, provide guidance and deliver the best quality fish around here. Congrats!
  7. 1 box of RC. Pickup near Tysons.
  8. Recently I tried to catch a goby in my tank with corals...after trying for 2 hrs...I gave up...is there a best way to catch fish? Perhaps a trapping device?
  9. I have been following a routine of changing 15% of water every week...is it too stressful for the fish?
  10. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will let them grow and see what they turn out to be.
  11. Any more suggestions?
  12. So I managed to scrape one of those off of rock. Here is my observation... - it was hard...took good amount of force to separate it from the rock. - it had some kind tentacles...they immediately retracted when touched. - when it's seperated...I saw the bottom was slimy. Here is a close up picture of front and back.
  13. I have at least 4 to 5 of such green dots in my tank...not just 2. Makes me think if its something else. Anyway...quick question...do they all have like circular shape?...one of them in my tank is not.
  14. I hope so...usually good things are not free...I have to wait and see.
  15. I has some kind of tentacles which retracted when I tried to scrape it with tweezers. Will try to get a closer picture tonight...perhaps by moving the rock little closer like 'Der ABT' suggested.
  16. Yes it is hard...couldnt get it out...had to use a little force to scrape it...stuck to the rock very well...it seemed just like hard coral shell. Searched for baby fungia and found this picture which resembles like what I have in my tank. But I never had introduced fungia in my tank.
  17. I searched and found pictures of mojano green...doesnt seem like what I have...and like I said...last night I tried to scrape one of them and its hard like made of calcium...just like some of the hard corals shell.
  18. Here is another picture...not that clear but a closer one.
  19. Yeah...they are not palys. No one seems to know what they are. I tried to scrape one of them today and found that its hard and it had some kind of polyps retracted immediately when I touched with the tweezers. Could it be some kind of hard coral?
  20. Okay so here is the detailed duration. My LED's (2 Evergrow IT2040's) start at 6 am at 5/0 (blue/white) I believe...slowly going upto 60/45 till 2 pm. Thats the peak...never did more than that...this setting continues for next 2 hours till 4 pm. Then it starts going down slowly turning blue at 10/0 by 8 pm. Between 8 pm and 11 pm I have them going down to 2/0 and finally turning off at 11 pm. I have no issues with my corals...I just wanted to see if anyone here leave them at moon light over night...or do we need to do that.
  21. I have been turning off my led's for about 7 hrs every day since I started my tank...just wanted to check if any one else is doing the same thing. I have few LPS and SPS corals in my tank. I am using 2 evergrow's it series. I have them running at custom setting to a max or 60 and 40 on blue and white resp for 2 hrs daily and then bringing them back and turning them off at 11pm. All the corals are doing fine...but they don't seem happy when the lights are off...next day morning they are all back to normal and happy...is this okay?
  22. Can someone ID these green hairy dots on the rock...under blue led's they turn bright green...any idea?
  23. Recently bought a Tunze ATO unit from a fellow member...I have a DeepWater HOB protein skimmer instead of a sump...so I put the ATO sensor in the display tank...the ATO works fine but because of the movement of the water caused by in tank wave makers the sensor does not perform effectively...it turns on and off every other second...any suggestions for in tank ATO sensor users to get around this...looks like to me there is no other option.
  24. Did you complete splitting them into groups? If so, any lessons learned? I am currently in the same boat...need to move the zoa's from frag plug to the rock.
  25. Wow...I can't believe all these comments and experiences from fellow reefers...I thought only zoa's are toxic and we should be careful around them...looks like its not worth taking any chances working with any coral without proper safety measures. Glad to have come across this thread. Good to know and hope you get better.
