  1. Took the whole thing and trashed it. Thanks everyone
  2. Or I can just throw that small piece of rock in the trash lol
  3. It's not the bio balls but the ones for the fluval itself. They're hard rock thingies. It's the pre filter media and bio max rings plus the Polish pads. I didn't think I could drill after setting it up. What if that cracks the tank? What's something like that cost? I want to get rid of the fluval cuz isn't it a nitrate factory?
  4. What would you recommend I do to decrease the nitrates and phosphate in my tank if I remove the Fluval filter. I appreciate the feedback
  5. I would love a sump but I'm really worried about putting a overflow box and then it's going to overflow one day. I have a reef octopus skimmer and two decent powerheads on each side.
  6. It has been running since August of 2014 I have the biochem balls inside of it with some filtration. I don't clean it every month so that's my problem but it's really difficult for me to clean it once a month.
  7. Its alive!!! Lol came back out yesterday
  8. I'm thinking of just removing my fluval. My rocks and sand should be enough filtration right? So no fluval and no sump. My nitrates are high. Have been using Rodi water for awhile now and nitrates have only gone higher. Thoughts?
  9. Has been in the sand all the time. Haven't changed a thing. When should I be worried and it looks like it's dying?
  10. I've had this for months, only had 3 heads and now has a bunch more. I haven't seen it open up the past 3 days. Everyone else is healthy. What makes it do this? These are Duncans right?
  11. Please elaborate on what a media reactor is. Thanks
  12. So if my fluval is a nitrate factory, is it better to go without a filter? I use the reef octopus hob skimmer. Thanks
  13. Ok so I got my new ro filters. I put it sed carbon carbon 75gpd membrane then another 75gpd membrane, it started with 60 ppm out but now 7-8 ppm. It ran for like 15 minutes. How much should it be without the di portion? And the Di will connect to the clean water coming from both membranes right? I wanted to see why it's reading 8 ppm from the two membranes. Membranes are less then a year in use and haven't used a lot either. Thanks!
  14. That's what I was thinking. The blue threw me off. Thanks! Is that generally how rodi is set up? 2 carbon, 1 sed, then the di?
  15. These two are the ones I have a tough time differentiating. The left one looks like the carbon one. What is the right one? The 3rd one is my sed filter
  16. So color is back to normal. Wonder if it was being bothers by another fish
  17. The bright blue is darker. I'll see how he looks when I get home. And all the fish love each other.
  18. He hasnt. Started doing that again. He's hiding right now. I saw a few white dots on him too. Hope he doesn't have ich. Would ich make it do that?
  19. I have a hippo tang and the bright blue part is really dark. He was nice and blue just the other day. Haven't changed anything in the tank. Any idea?
  20. Thanks for the tips. That sounds good. Will have him try that.
  21. He's in no rush but I told him he should start again. Just my 2 cents. Wanted to know what everyone else thought. If he were to start over would he boil the rock and sand?
