  3. So I'm a noob in the sump game. was excited I finally got it all set up but now one of the baffle is almost detached. it's a acrylic sump and the baffle us a form of acrylic, I think. it's black and it was used in another sump but as a baffle that slips into place. I used silicone to attach it. do I have to stop and take it all apart and try again? please help. thanks
  4. was thinking about that too. was just going to turn off the return pump and then wait for the overflow to empty
  5. thanks for the replies. I'm going to try the union tomorrow. when it's time for a change I'll open the union, the pipe will fall into the sock, remove sock, put new one and attach it back to the union.
  6. Dave, the plumbing would go into that dark grey pipe. that pipe goes into the sock. only way to remove the sock is to remove the grey pipe and then remove the sock.
  7. replied to your text
  8. So I have my 90g RR set up with sump. I want to switch from soft plumbing to pvc. here's my problem. to remove the sock filter I have to remove the tubing and with pvc thatll be hard to do. what can I do to keep the pvc plumbing and continue to use the sock filter? thanks
  9. thanks.took the whole thing out and then some lol
  10. thanks for replying. I just cut the whole thing open lol added a baffle myself.
  11. Okay so I have this sump. I need to install a baffle right of skimmer and one the same height on the other side. now my issue is the intake part on the left. water filled up and pours over to the skimmer area. how can I put a sock filter in there and be able to clean it? do I need to cut the top piece off? suggestions please!
  12. okay so I'm ready to purchase sand for my 90g. which sand is the best (looking for clean and white) and about how many years pounds would I need? thanks!

  14. just picked up 3. when you buy online and pick up in store you save another 15%. after buying 3 I found a code I could of used to save another 10$ off all three lol still 27 bucks for each bucket of salt is one H-E-double hockey sticks of a deal
  15. could possibly be just that. thanks!
  16. There was a certain type of rock I saw in a sump. it was flat and long. maybe 2 inches thick. was told it holds much more bacteria than regular live rock. anyone know the type?
  17. Imy going to see if I can possible make three compartments. that would be ideal. anyone use this sump before?
  18. won't fit in the stand. wish I could
  19. So I got this sump but it originally was a wet to dry sump. the guy had the skimmer on the right and that's it. I want to put a refugium in there. I can't figure out how to modify it. any thoughts on how I could do it? can it go refugium into skimmer back into tank? or is it skimmer first then water goes to refugium back to tank? thanks!
  20. Ok so the tank itself weighs 20 more pounds, 15 more gallons of water times 8.36lbs/gallon, I have a 30g sump I am going to use so we'll say that will hold 25g of water = 354lbs of extra weight I already have the ATO now with 5g bucket so that's already there. should be a problem, I think lol
  21. Well the garage, which is underneath, has concrete walls around. So the tank is up against the wall upstairs, and underneath that same wall is the concrete that is to the ground.
  22. thanks. so I looked at the ceiling in the garage and it does look like the joists are perpendicular. and it makes sense. I have a huge kitchen island and that's sitting the same as the tank and stand. the 40g sump won't fit in my stand so have to go with a 30g sump.
  23. Hello WAMAS So I am in the mix of going from a 75g to a 90g. I have a few questions. would the stand hold the extra weight of the 90g tank? I live in an end unit townhouse built 2014. the tank is in the corner above the garage against the end unit wall. the tanks never been level (water level is higher on the left side of the tank) tank is running for 2 years. now with the extra weight in the tank and also extra weight with the 40g breeder sump I'm going to set up plus 5 more gallons from the ato water. is this safe? the tank is on the middle floor. getting a little worried now lol
  24. Yea looks like i bought the wrong size
  25. I do not. Have them one W1. What does else mode do?
