So going from a stupid narrow 55 gallon to a 75 gallon. I'm going to need much more sand. My question is what is the best way to transfer everything? I was thinking this. Water into buckets With rocks and corals and fish sand first into tank Then water rocks and fish never done this before so all the help is appreciated And if anyone has some sand they can give me that would be a plus

Here's the worst part of the tank. Got brown growth too.

Not sure what hair algae looks like but this guy has tiny hairs coming from it and moving around like my gsp. Not long tho, really short like half a cm

So the glass growth decreased but the rock growth did not. Here is a better pic

Def not hair algae. I don't have a media reactor. Just running a fluval 406 and a hob ro skimmer.

What is this whole vodka dosing lol I read about it but still confused. You literally put vodka in the tank water? And where do you put the gfo? In my canister or just in the tank water? (Noob questions lol)

You know what. When I went on vacation for 5 days that's when I got the timers and set them to the hours I have them. Came back and the tank glass was all green. Ever since it's been growing daily on the glass. What should I have them on? Thanks guys

It's just odd in 6 months it decides to grow now. I have evergrows. Blues go on from 10-10 and whites 12-8. Too much?

So almost 6 months in and out of no where I get green algae on the glass and starting to pop up all over the rocks. I've always usedan tap water but never got this growth and how quick it grows after scraping off. All parameters checked and perfect and stable I just cleaned my powerheads to make sure circulation is not the problem. Is this normal? Is it time for rodi water?

The stand I have doesn't give me much space for a sump :-/

Just turned the fluval off. Removed the pipe attachment. Removed the motor head and put it back together. Turned on and got more water coming out. Wth is going on lol

I cleaned out the tubes with vinegar and was working great. 2 days later it's slow again. Barely any water coming out :-/

Thanks. Just put the hoses in vinegar and water. Poured some vinegar through the pipes too. We'll see what happens tomorrow

How would I do that with the tubing? Just pour it through one side and that's it? Never done vinegar rinse before

Hey guys. So somethings going on with my fluval. I just did cleanup on it a few weeks ago. Maybe 2 weeks. Now the flow is slow again algae is building up quicker. What could be the problem? Something stuck in the tubing?

What do you guys think of this? Reviews on it are pretty good

What's the best way to add sand to my tank? The power heads moved all the sand from the middle of the tank. TIA!

Check ph at night. Right before I posted. ATO pump is something easy to install? I don't have anywhere to put a container of water tho. Guess I have to make make room in my stand

Alright guys so I'm about 4 months in and just did some water testing after my a mistake with water evaporating. When the water evaporated I always added more saltwater, not knowing that the salinity is only increasing. Fixed it and now back at 1.025. Here is where I am at 55 Gallon Tank Temp 79 Salinity 1.025 Calcium 340 Alkalinity 10 Magnesium 1410 Nitrate 5 Phosphate 0.25 pH 8.05 I have RO HOB Skimmer Fluval Canister Two 1050 koralias I know my phosphates and nitrates are high, I am currently using tap water and getting my RODI this week. Also getting a refractometer as well. Only got a GSP and Candy cane coral right now. Candy cane is getting ready to split two of its 3 heads (exciting!!!) Water changes is 10% weekly. Anything else I should be doing? Is my calcium getting low? Fish and corals all look great. Thanks for any feedback!
