  1. Glad the basslet made it! What it's doing is very typical. They need a long time before being comfortable and out and about. Thanks for the update.
  2. Love what you're doing, Garrett! Keep up the great work teaching the next generation. Did the basslet ever come out?
  3. You do have the magic touch!
  4. You mean some ebb between one tank over another? LOL! Hope all is well! I won't be far.
  5. Last update. The tank starting overflowing from the overflow box. I was gone, but wife caught it fast so not much water left the tank before I stopped the pumps. I did not have the time nor the motivation to properly figure it out and fix the issue. I ended up running it like a sumpless set up to keep everything alive while I waited for @gastone to stop by and get all of the inhabitants. At first, I thought the pipes were clogged but in the process of breaking everything down, it doesn't seem like they were. A flashlight down them made it look all clear. Now I'm wondering if the pump (or it's controller) was messing up and running on the highest setting thereby overwhelming the overflow box's max gph capabilities. I do have 2 pumps. Given that I have very little attention span, I'm quite happy I lasted this long. If history repeats itself, I will re do the setup at a future date. Looking at the dates in my signature, it's 3 years and 1 day for this UNS tank while the predecessor WB 15 was just shy of 1 year. A good journey!
  6. Just catching up on this. Great work, Garrett!
  7. Looks good, Isaac! Congrats on getting featured. Hope all is well.
  8. I open up my primes every so often and clean them out. After that, as good as new. If your fans are actually loud even after cleaning, you can buy replacement fans.
  9. That's cool that UNS has created a Reef System line as these tanks so so good looking! I do think that going w/ the all black background and the integrated overflow goes against why UNS is so great. I much prefer the external overflow via drilling route. Great tanks!
  10. Sorry to hear! Something similar happened to me a few years ago. Although one can't know for sure but I attributed the issue from a hitchhiker disease on a snail from a LFS that doesn't separate fish from inverts. Because of that, I generally don't buy inverts unless I know they are from a fishless system.
  11. One option is to dose/add live phyto to your tank. I have found that it's been one of the keys, if not the key, to keeping the algae at bay for me. The phyto benefits the tank and you can't really overdose it. It's a safe first try. But you'll also need to work on raising the NO3. I started to turn off the skimmer and skip water changes as one method because I didn't want the hassle of dosing it.
  12. Amazing! Congrats and continue the good work. Looking forward to further updates!
  13. Great idea. Their new space is awesome. Miss these events from years ago.
  14. Thank you. I knew I was overthinking it.
  15. I visited capital aquariums earlier today and check it out! They did indeed have what they listed. I didn't leave with anything though. They have fish in the same system so I'm always worried about inverts transferring diseases. Though I may be overthinking it. I'll try to take a drive to aqua haus too.
