I have the oppurtunity to get a really good deal on a skimmer. It is extremely oversized for what I have. Are there any down falls to this? The way I'm looking at it is I will never have to buy another skimmer.

I seen you said you had 7 boxes of rock. Interested in selling some?

Yeah I still got a ways to go on the crown. I have no idea how to do crown so this is gonna ne interesting. I'm no carpenter by any means so this far I'm teaching myself as I go. Stand width.lol. this is where the reverse sicology comes in to play with the other half. I built it 48x36 because I'm always looking to the future.lol . So when I feel I understand how to have a successful reef all I have to do is buy a bigger tank. 48" stand-check. 2 radions-check. 48x18 sump- check. See where this is going!!

hopefully mixed reef, thats the plan. i will start with some easier stuff then when i feel i have the chemistry under control i will get my feet wet with some hard coral.

I really hope you don't mind, I am trying to copy your stand a little and let me be the first to tell you , I'm not sure I can figure all that crown out.

So what does the new one have over the old ones?

I'm really leaning toward led. Only reason is I have a 150 gallon now with halides and wanted to try something different. Not unhappy with halides just a lot of heat.

I thought about the kessil but not crazy about having to adjust knobs all the time for color variation. Not out of the question just undecided so far.

Soft at first but eventually some hard coral when I get better educated on the water parameters and feel like I can keep it under control. Don't want to buy another light later so this one needs to be capable from the start.

I am ready to purchase a light for my new rimless build. Need help choosing a light. It is 24x24x24 reef savvy. Any help would be appreciated.

What does Felix reccomend putting under his rimless tanks?

Anyone have experience with the kessil 350?

I am picking up a reef savvy 24x24x24 3/4,inch starphire tank in the next week. What would be a good light for this size tank without emptying the bank account. I will start out with easy corals but would eventually like to get some hard coral.
