I just got live rock last weekend and found these two attached. Any idea what they are?

Ok guys with the fan off it was 77 this morning as it was last night. I think im starting to get it to a normal steady temp now!

I have the 130. But has the upgraded inlet skimmer cup. The top of it is attached and the bottom float up. Is the bottom supposed to be attached or does it just hang there? I thought general discussion was a better area for help.

I have a red sea max 130. I have the added inlet cup. The issue is the inet cup rises up at the bottom letting water in from the bottom. Ive messed with it a lot and cant seem to fix this issue. Help!!!

Woke this am and the temp was 76 uggh

The temp is staying at 80.4

Tom, whats a good thermometer you would recommend??

I was told to keep my temp below 78 degrees. Its reading at 80 degrees. I am using a basic coral life digial thermometer. I have the probe in the back of the tank about an 2 inches below the surface. Its a red sea max 130 and i have the cooling fan running too.

Being this is my very first salt tank, Tom has been a godsend helping me out with everyrhing. Very much appreciated!!

I AM BUYING A MAXIJET 900, 2 OF THEM FOR A GOOD DEAL. ONE FOR THE ATO system and the other as a back up/mixing salt.

Hey I am looking into buying the ATO and wondering how hard they are to hook up. Its going on a Red Sea MAx 34 gallon set up. Any advice or help would be great.

SO AFTER I GET THE TANK UP AND RUNNING I WONT NEED TO TEST FOR Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite and PH ANYMORE?

I looked at the red sea kit but saw it doesnt test for ph, amonia, and all. isnt all that needed? so confused....

I WONT BEING DOING ANY HARD CORALS. JUST SOFT CORALS. I DONT HAVE A REFRECTOMETER YET BUT WILL BE ORDERING IT SHORTLY.

I am not sure which master test kit I need. I had bough the API saltwater one then saw they have a master reef kit. So which one will I need?

Ok thanks Tom thanks. Ill have to see how much salt is and decide whether to mix it myself or just buy premixed.

Ok here is a question.... When first filling the tank up, do i need to Let the newly mixed saltwater sit for a day before i start fill up the tank or can i just add it as i mix it up??? I understand once that tank is filled and im doing. Water change I have to let the new saltwater mix sit for a day before hand.

Hey everyone. Tom has turned me on to this forum. There seems to be a ton of great info from everyone which i will definitly need lol. I am not new to fish keeping but new to saltwater. I used to keep African Cichlidsbut I am ready to take the next step into the marine word. I will be starting out with a RedSea MAx 130 tank and all (thanks Tom). I know I want to get a ATO but how to set that up I dont have a clue. As of that I have nothing else. Any help through out this journey will be much appreciated. Oh yeah I will be joining and coming to some meetings.
