  1. today 4 baby horses put in the big tank, its a first.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqC4H6lK-YU&list=UU894ZquQgHSUUHMJBepJ5UA
  2. yes i want to buy a copy when its done, i took care of my dad for years and now look after my mom, so breeding fish keeps me happy i cant go anywhere anymore, i have sick friends so keep up the good work with your'e wife, we all know what it is like for you,
  3. long island, I spent 20 summers at 846 dune road Westhampton beach and have been thinking of going back to do a seahorse count with a grid at swan island, Morices inlet Shinokock inlet got me started diving, have you been too the Riverhead aquarium? I hope our nonprofit can be half as succesfull as that place, as a kid i collected spotfins and other tropicals in the fall and sold them to pet stores, when can i read your'e book, I'm all about filters, soon I might be feedig more then 30 cubes of shrimp a day into 600 gallons, 16 cubes now plus lots of live food horses grow fast changing 150 gallons a week, my tanks are 66 degrees the keys are great but i miss cold water
  4. oh rob Im still not happy with my water, changing 150 gallons a week adding more bioballs and ultraviole, skimmers working great, maybe ill do 100 gallons wet dry then more ultraviolets , do i have to do Ozone ? ill wait on that and try everything else, seahorses poop alot, letting the macro grow out like last year might help, the horses like it but it cuts down water flow across the bottom, man its frustrating but fun
  5. no its 2, started out as 2 tubes connecting in the center one worm facing right the the pother facing left, then 2 heads came out one tube look again you can see 2 circles and mouths, they have been shooting something into the water early mornings now it looks like they are constructing a tube # 3, 1- 1 /4" from the end, I don't know what is going on but it is funny, just stop the video and look close, I give them baby brine 3 times a day, hey I'm a seahorse guy not a worm guy so i ask this, since they are so happy at 65 degrees are we all buying the european tube worm that can go from freezing to 80 degrees and is invading even south Australia? Is there a worm person?
  6. this video shows my favorite seahorse Hana and her children, man they are eating alot and growing fast, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNFii2G8kNE&list=UU894ZquQgHSUUHMJBepJ5UA
  7. I am still not happy with filtration, adding bio balls 10 gallons per week and now ultraviolet but the bulbs are old, thinking about ozone? hey whats up with 2 worms in one tube, they have been doing this for a week are they crazy?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNFii2G8kNE&list=UU894ZquQgHSUUHMJBepJ5UA
  8. that is sort of what i wanted to hear, I will keep adding more ultraviolets and bio filters, im feeding 16 cubes of shrimp a day soon double that so i watch you fish guys and how you solve problems, 50 fish most of them big you may also hit 20 cubes a day,
  9. photos would help us understand what you are doing
  10. hoping you have the ultra violet and ozone thing planned so i can just do what you do, i have ultraviolet hooked up but what about ozone? Red Sea aquazone delux? whats youre first choice? its not easy getting good info on this
  11. i have an account with fed ex , but i don't want to sell them for 6 more weeks because they are only 2" long they are eating frozen food so i sold about 15 to 3 people but i know them and they have special tanks with nets or undergravel filters so the little ones wont get sucked into filters, i would rather wait , late january or febuary
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il7-L27fX-Y&list=UU894ZquQgHSUUHMJBepJ5UA what else will live at 66 degrees?
  13. I am looking for things that like cold water as this video shows the fan worm seems to love it, the baby brine in my system keeps him busy, anybody got any ideas? i cant find info on this one but it works so far.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il7-L27fX-Y&list=UU894ZquQgHSUUHMJBepJ5UA
  14. these photos should help, the big dank cant drop the other maybe 1/2" but dont worry the tanks can flood, i clean screens every morning and night but it a screen clogs the pump will overflow and small babies end up on the floor, or a tube can pop off and pump water on to the floor, i have water alarms but if im not home my mom can only shut the power off, this place is like a 3rd world nuclear power plant, and ready to melt down
  15. it does not fill the sump more then a few inches when the power goes out , there is a check valve on the pump intake and the big tank water does not drop at all, the small tanks maybe 1/2 " the tanks being at different levels is not important and has no effect, also i have a genoratr, the 60 gallon cube is the only tank that drops because its store built overflow, mine dont drop, ,
  16. yes all one and the water is at last clear and perfect, its gravity draining to one sump, 2 avast skimmers and a 60 gallon wet dry, im building a 650 gallon system at 550 gallons now, lots of macro algea that i pull out by handfulls eventually, will do a breeding seahorses video soon show everything
  17. Elysia sounds good , 3 of my baby tanks are well planted and have fine nets covering the whole where the water exits, i will order a few and hope for the best, thanks for the update
  18. seahorses are not dumb, the way most people keep them makes them seem that way, but they are hunters and should be hunting not begging for food all day so the planted tank is good, hey where do you get the slugs? lots of mail order but who is good, and the macro? i use 4 types but looking for more can you tell us? that shaving brush is it old or new will it die soon?
  19. this is it then, i will wait a few months to build the corner tank, and i need a big chiller in the spring, my little one will handle the next 3 months, in 6 weeks the hundred or so horses in the tank on the bar can be put in the big holding tank, and then everybody moves up to the next tank, so i will keep the tanks clean and feed the little fish people
  20. so the blue one is a slug? i want slugs and the plant should i try, that blue one you posted was a slug?
  21. this is new tank, i wet sand and buff should have done the last one, anyway its 14" tall just like the last one, a tray, #4 so thats it i get one more 100 gallon for the big bellies then im done sort of
