  1. Had the Red Sea Max 250 all in one 65g tank for the last 11 months and love it. Clean looking, well built, no risk of floods and wife approved. Everything is growing well especially with the recent bulb upgrades. Pretty amazing. BUT, I need...want...to upgrade to a larger size hoping that I am not making a mistake (am I?). The new Red Sea Max aquariums due out soon are close to $5000 or more! I like the look of 150g cubes but also longer tanks where there can be islands and lots of room for fish to swim. 1. Any pros and cons of these setups? 2. What is the best minimalist 150ish gallon setup out there and what manufacturer? I am more interested in growing a reef with fish and not so much an equipment junkie. Anyone interested in an awesome Red Sea Max 250 reef? Let me know.
  2. Full tank shot. 10 months of progress. What do you think?
  3. Thanks dude. I'm trying to master the glass. Unfortunately the next one is not a macro but hope you like it.
  4. Thanks Bob. Nice looking fish. Might change to male and blue soon.
  5. Thanks Max. It's a Nikon D7000 (just upgraded from a D40) and the Nikon 105mm macro lens (just got that too). In terms of editing, I crop, resize the image and most of the time shoot in RAW and adjust the exposure and contrast a bit if needed. I try not to adjust too much. Right now, this camera and lens are beyond my talents!
  6. Google Red Sea Max 500 which is due out this year sometime. It's an all in one tank that wouldn't require much technical dabbling. I have the 250 and it's been great. Welcome to WAMAS.
  7. Moderate. Is that good or bad?
  8. Light pink Zooanthid polyps. Which one is different?
  9. Cyphastrea (Meteor Shower) polyp. It's only a few millimeters across and it's hard to see the true beauty by eye.
  10. Thanks Bob! Not as sweet as that Mandarin shot though! You had me at beer...
  11. Thank you Jason. Some more below.
  12. I am no photography pro, but taking photos makes me strangely happy. I am especially interested in the world less seen. I will post photos of corals and other things in my tank. Your comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. These photos are also on my site that has photos of not just corals but I will post marine related shots here. Can I consider this my tank build thread? Sun Coral
  13. I often wondered if vermitid snails that produce a similar web should be left alone in my tank. Their webs trap quite a bit. They don't seem to affect the corals.
  14. Holy mother of glass tanks!
  15. Awesome skills and Mandarin bro.
  16. Almost there! Looking forward to seeing pics of your tank dude.
  17. How about I provide the tequila and we pop it in your tank? Sharing is caring !
