  1. I ran a 54g corner tank for a year or two with black sand. I thought it looked great. Ended up taking the tank down so i can't say how it would look further down the line.
  2. This could very well be the case. I've run into this problem before. My sps seemed to STN from the top down though when the tank was too clean.
  3. Tape or PTFE paste depending on the situation.
  4. Looks amazing.
  5. Still looks awesome. I'll have to hit you up for some mille frags.
  6. i cut a piece of black vinyl and wrapped it around my reactor to keep the light out.
  7. i used the 'rolling blackout' approach. lights off for 3 days then on for 1-2 days then off for another 3 days until they were gone.
  8. Black out periods are the only thing that worked for me. Peroxide didn't work for me at all.
  9. precision marine here
  10. BRS. i've found its not as hard on the Maxijet impellers as some other stuff out there.
  11. 460 is more blue as opposed to 420 which is more violet or pink
  12. your ro/di should have a waste line coming off the membrane housing. pics might help.
  13. every time i've set up a new tank, i first notice a boom in copepods on the glass etc., followed by a boom of flatworms that munch on the copepods. thats why i ask about the age, but 40 is a little beyond new. You're right about them being interesting to watch...as long as they are not the type that likes to munch on corals.
  14. flatworms are probably feeding on the copepods. is this a new system?
  15. what test kit are you using to test alk?
