  3. I need to borrow some big trashcans and a stock tank. PLEASE let me know if anyone can help me I have to move a tank Sat mourning and need a place for the live rock and coral to stay until I can donate and sell some, so I shouldn't have them long. Also who do I contact about donating coral and live rock ect... Guessing that the schools need some? And thanks again to everyone who pointed me to this guy thats selling this tank! Here is a pic of what I have to move and store, I hope there are people here that like softies! Most of the coral and rock I can't keep. (tank is 7' long)
  4. Well shoot I just looked at that post on CMAS and I think that is more my price, even though its a little smaller than what I wanted I think I will go check it out. Thanks guys! I will be going up there this weekend I think its above Baltimore if anyone feels like helping.
  5. Hey thanks guys, and it doesn't have to be new, so if anyone else finds any good deals give me a shout.
  6. I am looking forward to buying a new large tank something around 250 gallons. For the people that bought their large tanks new, where did you buy and what advice do you have?
  7. Hey man I am glad you took my advice and posted on here, I hope everything went smoothly for you sorry I never came by to look at that tank, but it looks like everything went well! Paul
  8. Yea the growing on rocks in the fuge is the only issue I have with my grape calipera plus it grows fast and I have to pull it out, but I haven't ever seen any in the display.
  9. Wow thats wierd, mine works great, I clean the fish gunk out of my sump with it no problem and its on the floor. It depends on how much water pressure the city is giving you though. Good thing about them is you don't have to carry a bucket of water around. Trust me that made my life EASY.
  10. Buy one of thoes hoses you hook to your sink.
  11. Yea the kent stuff worked for me. Just make sure you hold it at the right level for the right amount of time.
  12. Yea my tank went to 82 yesterday, fish are fine. Might check your levels to make sure?
  13. I got the same kind of elegance (white with blue tips) from Pacific East at a meet a few months ago. It was a TINY frag on a small frag plug its definatly doing great in my tank. But I don't think it was aquacultured.
  14. "If I had gotten it in the yank in under an hour" Well the point is you got it in the yank. Personally thats not my favorite but to each their own.
  15. Yea I saw that, I think I am going to get a galaxy unless I can figure out more on this dimable thing, I can't seem to find out much by searching online but I am probly not typing in the right stuff.
  16. So how does the dimmable option work on the lumatek? Can you set it to dim on and dim off like sunrise sunset?
  17. Last pic looked pretty good. I would love to have a job like that.
  18. Anyone use a dimable ballast? Do you have to get a seperate controller to do sunrise sunset?
  19. Right on, yea I didn't think about magnetic or electric. I was kinda just looking at electric since thats what I am using.
  20. I need to buy a new MH ballast. I have a bluewave on one tank that seems like it is doing okay, but I just want to see what the long time metal halide users have to say before I buy. I can't spend too much. I need to get a dual 250w, and right now I am running aqualine 10,000k on the sps tank. I was looking at the galaxy since it has a 5 year warrenty. Suggestions?
  21. I figured it out! The evidence is in the photo! You have an acro eating clown fish! Cought red finned... Sorry had to... I am no expert but I don't think feeding your system is going to stop your acros from receding, I would think the alk is the issue or your salinity since you said it hasn't been calibrated. But the acro eating clownfish has got to go...
  22. Yea I read that one, I think what got me interested in the breading was an article in one of our mags we get a few months back with some great pics and info. I am going to sit by the tank tonight and see what happens. I don't know if I will be able to order a male fingered dragonet though it seems like I can only find females and they even take a while to find. Anyone who sees one for sale please let me know.
  23. Ours do a dance around the time the lights go out and flutter at the top of the water coloumn. They kind of wrap around each other and float for a few seconds. We have not collected any eggs yet but that is something that we look forward to doing soon, also with the fingered dragonet.
  24. Why don't you just start with one system? I don't understand how you can run four systems in an apartment without risks of flooding/electrical problems. What is needed depends on what you have. Refuge/sump better idea... Mix your salt in water first and let it sit before adding it. They make water change syphon hoses you can attatch to your sink. A dosing pump sounds like its later down the road for you. Adding things to your tank, I dip and drip my corals and drip aclimated my fish before I added them. Quarentine tank is a good idea. You can find a lot of the answers to these questions by researching online. In my opinion planning a tank is better than having to modify it later on down the road. Let everyone know what your tanks are going to be for and you will get better answers to your questions.
