  1. Off to CL http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/for/4022449902.html
  2. Forgot to add the custom acrylic sump. It will fit and maximize space under stand with room for external return pump (dart)
  3. It was flex and had been glued with no problem for over 4 years
  4. I forgot to mention I found the cause. A 2 inch return line became unglued and was shooting water out like a firehose. I actually flooded twice when I didn't know the cause and I inadvertently turned back on the return pump.
  5. I'm looking to sell everything at once as a package. I will give it a few days here before I post elsewhere. Here is what I have: 265 gallon tank Custom stand and canopy (Cost over $2000 and is solid oak. Very nice furniture quality) 3 x250 watt ice cap mh ballasts 2 x luminarc mini stealth mh pendant 1 x lumenmax 3 MH pendant 2 x 36" reef brite led aqua light. One power supply will need replaced Bubble king 250 skimmer Hammerhead return pump Dart return pump Tunze water level controller Pinpoint pH monitor (needs new probe) Bubble Magnus 3 part dosing pump Containers for dosing pump Lots of little things including the rock arch and plenty of rock. 2 vortech pumps I will include but I haven't checked to see if one of them still works. I think it's ok but I can't be sure. It might have gotten wet but I can check on it. $3500 OBO I need to see it move soon.
  6. I was very fortunate to have the help once again of a WAMAS member.
  7. The tank has been emptied of livestock and I will reply to PMs as soon as I can now that the initial crisis is over. I still have the basement to clean. I know several have expressed interest in this set up so please know I will respond probably later this evening to everyone. Thank you all for your kind replies.
  8. Damage was minor. Just melted some electrical. Took a while to find where the smell was coming from. I dont have time to list it all to part it out right now, but if anyone is looking for an upgrade to a nice 265 gallon tank it will be a good deal. I have to get the livestock moved as soon as I can
  9. The sump is in the basement and requires a strong pump. The balance between flow from upstairs to down would get out of balance if a power outage and then return of power. This was usually due to the skimmer going crazy with the extra water in the sump. I think the balance was off and then water overflowed the tank upstairs and the ATO added too much water as well. With 265 gallons the freshwater change did not impact the fish and corals but I have a mess to clean. Beautiful tank for anyone looking to upgrade. I will be parting with everything I have.
  10. Came home to a flood and small electrical fire this evening. I have been unable to care for this tank like I used to and I think this is a sign that it is time to part ways for now. I'm going to be looking to sale a 265 gallon with custom stand, canopy, custom sump, metal halide lighting, Bubble King 250 skimmer, Vortech pumps and more. I am venting the house and drying the floor now trying to figure out how to best deal with this mess. Nothing like a late night welcome when you thought you were coming home to rest.
  11. I have one, but honestly I doubt it is worth the drive. You can buy one for less than you will spend in gas.
  12. I like the open look. As soon as the fish get settled and less shy they will have lots of swimming room. Very nice.
  13. Hard for me to do it on a Monday morning, but I can find some time on the weekend.
  14. A location is helpful to share and you may just find that you have a reefer as a neighbor that can give you some hands on help.
  15. Is the Kole tang eating normally? Maybe a parasite?
  16. First off let me say that I do not own an aquarium controller. I'm intrigued by the idea and I have been brainstorming the functions that I can benefit from. I know (or at least think) that the controller can do these things for me: - Turn lights on and off (replacing my current timers) - Monitor pH (control pH if you have a Ca reactor) - Control heater (replaces my current heater control) -If for some reason my tank gets too hot it can turn my lights off to improve the temp. I recently thought about how nice it would be if it would turn off my skimmer during a power outage so it would not come back on until I am there to make sure it does not go "crazy" and overflow when it comes back on. It seems to overflow after every power outage until the water level in the sump is stable again. Not sure if it can do this, but I think it could be programmed. If my water level in the sump became too low due to a failure of my auto top-off pump it could be set up (maybe) to shut off the return pump before it ran dry and seized. Anything else you guys or gals that have controllers use them for? Any tips for setting them up?
  17. I have had it on the glass like that before. It makes it real easy to get frags of it off for anyone that wants some.
  18. Maybe the xenia attached before the hermit moved in to the shell.
  19. I have a green acro colony that has been turning blue over the last few weeks. At first I thought it was going to die but now I think it may be changing colors. It was solid green, now it is more of a tri-color. I have had that colony for about 2 years.
  20. I have a few of the ones from BRK, but I'm also looking for the larger ones that I can aquascape the back wall with.
  21. Does anyone know if any of our LFS carry these? http://www.aqua-mags.com/
