  2. very technical: white finger hook things :-) about 3 inches long. you open the door about 1 inch then run a finger in there to puch the finger off the hook part......... the key is to put the finget about 2 inches from the edge of the door - so the little fingers cant get that far in and - don't let them see you do it - lol - these darn kids are brilliant these days
  3. come to Purcellville - I can get you started back up :-) ( neon green hammer, dragons breath, pink birds nest, some SWAP stuff, red monti, green slimer, gsp, leather with neon green polyps) The SWAP stuff is Idaho Grage, green acro and dragons breath. I have more that I have no idea what it is called :-) for the grand total of 0.0
  4. I agree - but there are some things to do....... 1. call the person watching your tank 'daily' and ask questions. 2. get a hobbyist to do it. 3. get a service company/pet sitter to do it. Just my 2 cents. I am going to Europe for a week in October - I will have the best watching my tank since I am watching his this week :-) Doug is da man - also pays to live 2 miles from a WAMAS officer and good guy - lol
  5. tell Byron you are a NYY fan - then see where you are - lol Go Sox ( and Byron will still be nice since he has to be at work )
  6. Jan, I believe reefsafe is relating to corals- not fish, etc. That lobster will eat all the meat it can catch - period :-( He will not eat corals, so it is reefsafe. Get yourself a small 10 cent goldfish. Pit it on a small hook and fish away. The lobster may hold on until you can get it in a net.......... The trap is a great idea - just have to be patient. I fished out my snow flake eel 2 years ago :-)
  7. wow - that is sick - ( if it is ever for sale :-)
  8. Oh yeah :-) I have a semi cheap hob skimmer. I am not as good as Rob - lol - my fuge made the difference for me. I was running 15 to 25 Nitrate until I got the fuge and Rob gave me 4 different types of macro - 1 of which you now have :-) The dragons breath is nnice to look at and sucks up the Nitrates :-)
  9. Rob's hidden point ( and mine also) Don't chase it. If you have ever maintained a pool or a hot tub, you definately know what I am talking about. Take a reading do an adjustment then lock the cabinet for days. Wait for the 'fix/or no fix' to work its wonders. Most folks here will let the tank cycle, etc. what is the difference when you do other things? Let what ever you do have the time to work. My 2 cents PS: I don't dose anything, I do 10% water changes weekly, all my SPS, LPS, etc are growing - maybe slow - but they are fine :-)
