  1. I am using a Reef Ready 75 gallon as the first sump. This will also server as my frag/ growout tank. It will drain into a 30 gallon bottom sump. The bottom sump is drilled and plumbed for an external pump. I think I should have enough overhead for the pipes.
  2. I am not looking for tremendous flow through the system via the reeflo. I have Vortechs in the tanks to take care of that. I am trying to centralize filter functions such as skimming and calc input. The aquariums will have pvc draining into the downstairs sump. The sump downstairs will be the return point for the system.
  3. It will pump up about 12 feet. The return line will be 3/4 inch pvc.
  4. I am getting ready to run a system that will pump up one floor. It will flow to two aquariums on the 2nd floor. One is a 50 gallon, the other is a 90 gallon. Do you think the Reeflo Barracuda pump is strong enough to do the job? Thanks
  5. Thanks for the information. I will be coming out to BRK this weekend!!!
  6. Thanks for correcting me, I meant DC8. For now I am planning on hooking up my calcium reactor with intenal pH probe and running my two DE250 MH bulbs off the timer. What are DC4HD's? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each? I have heard of a DC4 (or OC4 if you are uninformed like myself!!!) Thanks for info
  7. I was checking to see if you had an OC8 for an AquaController III in stock. Thanks
  8. I have a 250 DE metal halide system. Radium does not make a 250 DE bulb. Does anyone know of a light that is similar to the radium in a 250 DE configuration? Thanks for the info
  9. Vienna aquarium is expensive, but his fish are usually very healthy.
  10. I just paired two Gold Stripe Maroons. I put the small one in with a slightly larger resident GSM. It got harrased for a few days, each day the harrasment was less aggressive. After about five days the resident female clown started to do herding behavior, trying to get the new clown to host in the anemone. After about 3 days of hovering around the anemone, the new clown hosted and now they are a happy pair!!!
  11. That could be the slime coat of the clownfish you are seeing. Sometimes the organism that is infecting the fish causes the slime coat to react.
  12. I was wondering if coraline algae has the ability to etch glass. I seems as if it is etched into the glass.
  13. Straight out the bottle!!
  14. I left the vinegar on it for 24 hours. The coraline algae is off the pane, but there is a haze that is embedded in the glass. Razor blades don't do the trick. Anyone know how to get the embedded haze out?
  15. I have an aquarium that has a calcium haze from coraline algae growth. I tried soaking in vinegar, did not do the trick. What's next? CLR, muriatic acid? Any suggestions? Thanks
  16. Thanks to Johnny and BRK for getting my starphire 90 oceanic so quickly!!! Have a great holiday!!!
  17. Every GSM clownfish I have owned attacks hands. As others in this thread have mentioned, they have a propensity to attack the webbing in between the fingers. I think it is amusing. Weaver
  18. Thanks for the information. Weaver
  19. I know most butterfly fishes are not reef safe. Does anyone have experience with the milletseed butterfly fish? Thanks Weaver
