Ive done many Glass-holes overflow boxes. They're quiet and can handle the water volume. The pic above looks ridiculously small and I'm guessing it isnt sized correctly.

If you get unwanted hitchhikers, just remove the rock that harbors them and get them out.
Easy to do if you have patience.
When you get new and fresh rock, you’ll place it in the tank with lights and skimmer and let it cycle and grow to reestablish the microfauna.
You don’t add clean up crew until 4-6 weeks later when the rock has fully recovered and is actually growing stuff again.
Plenty of time to remove the pests.
I have gotten several tiger gobies, a few jellies, and some astrea corals from gulf rock.

For a 150, that stand is overkill and that’s most of your issues.
Buy a new 30” tall stand and you can fit a custom sump or wet/dry, decent sized skimmer, ATO system, dosing system, and some supplies underneath.

This is a common issue in my line of work-
1) pairs of filefish work great. Downside is that they eat things that look like Aiptasia. Zoas and Xenia fall into this category. In my opinion if your FF ate your zoas, they were ugly. Sometimes it takes a few weeks before they are interested in eating Aiptasia.
2) peppermint shrimps in large quantities. If you have a standard 120g tank with many Aiptasia, it can take months before they get around to eating them all. I usually put 25 in and they take care of them quickly.
3) berghias suck. They are delicate and you need more of them than peppermints to do the same job.
4) Majano wand works great if you can reach it.
5) Copperbands die in captivity. We don’t sell them, don’t order them, and pretty much don’t talk about them.
If you threw $100 at this problem, you could get;
4-5 FF
25 peppermints
10 berghias

what's the alk and cal of the incoming water?
can't you test those supplements that Triton sends you for alkalinity and figure out which contains it?

its as hard as simply pulling it out, putting it in buckets, then putting it back in the new tank.
use old sand only if its not filthy, otherwise, get new sand.
