  1. I can't believe it, the same hermit crab that has got'n stuck in a suction line of my canister filter 4 times !!, now has managed to get sucked into my skimmer pump and locked it up. I'll still have the tub of live rock in the garage with salt water cycling through it. So when I got home today, as usual, I check the water temp. and water level, but today the skimmer pump sounded bad and was not producing bubbles. I turned it off and took it apart and guess who I find, that same hermit crab......ohhh!!!! that
  2. Sounds very exciding, I can wait to see the pics as you move forward with this tank build.
  3. All right, you been talking a big game about this Neozoe stuff, It's been almost two months now.......lets see some pics Bro
  4. Looking good and lots of room for the corals to grow out. keep the pics coming.
  5. I have made a few changes, the pipe is now 3/4" which will give greater flow and the sump retuen is higher up in the tank so if the sump loop pump fails, not as much water will backfill the sump. I'm also starting to fill the tank with RODI water. I'm hoping to be able to place the live rock in tomorrow and the sand this weekend. If thing go to plan. reefmontalvo, That is the highest point that water will backfill into the sump when the pumps are shut off (sump pick 2). By raising the sump return, I'll have less water backfilling into the sump if the pump were to fail. I'll show pics when the system has filled and show the difference.
  6. Keep it going, 1 pic every week or two.
  7. WOW !!!! How totally cool, Can't wait to see that bad boy run. I have two things to comment on, I don't see any valves on the piping for what looks like a Mag 5 or 7 in the sump. What if you had to change the pump or replace that tee look'n thingy up under the display tank. How will you controll the water? Which brings me to my second question, what happens if one of those pumps stop running, How will you keep the water in your display tank from draining into your sump? Very clean install.
  8. Your tank has really come along nicely, I look forward to furture pics.
  9. Thanks for the reply Jason There are many things I would like to relpy to, but it would take a day for me to type it all out.....my two fingers can only type so fast I like the paint idea and may move on that - the plumbing in the tank may get changed out to get greater flow.......if I do, I'll have to do it when the wifey isn't around
  10. Since the plumbing is pretty much wrapped up, my next objective is to get this lighting down. After giving it some thought, I'm thinking I'll go with Giesemann, 2 Aquablue 11,000k, 2 Pure Actinic 6000k and 2 Actinic + 40% - 60%. After looking at many tanks and there lighting arraignment, I'm looking for a bluish/white color in the tank, but no yellow.
  11. The new light set up really made a differance, can't wait to see what you will be adding.
  12. Thank You. The sump has a Mag 7 and the close loop is using a PanWorld100PX-X
  13. Tank has been fully operating for about 2 hours with no leaks. I have shut off each pump one at a time and both at the same time with no overflows at the sump. There are just a few minor changes I want to make, but over all, I'm very happy on the performance.....and the fact that there are no water leaks. I ended up lowering the close loop outlets in front of the tank as I got tired of looking at them after several days. Here is the sump running normally Here is the level of water when the pumps are not running
