Awesome now i feel better about my tank.
  3. Thanks Forealb50 There are lots that I cannot reach at and is picking on them individually only the solution or I can add something in the tank and all can be cured. Acting on them individually can be little issue for me. But if that is the only solution then so be it and I will have to work on it. Bit wanted to see if there was any other solution.
  4. so it is safe and not harmful to the tank? But what about the aptasia issue i have also. How to get rid of it.
  5. I think I found something. It could be a fern plant. Accourdign to what i read it is a great thing but then i do not want on my display tank coz it is hard to control and it will take over my tank. So please any advice what to do with it and if it is truely good then how to control it from taking over.

Thank you in advance.

  11. Sad very sad. I hate people who think membership brings them power to do and ask for anything. I bet if you go anywhwere to buy anything you have to pay right away and asking someone to hold something of high dollar should be paid in advance if you really want to buy it. This shows the person just wanted a backup incase they do not get a better deal somewhere else. SAD and very disapointed.
  12. Man looks like you sleep for few days and good deals are gone. I needed few cleaning crews and about 75 lbs worth of live rock. Great buys guys lucky you all.
  13. thank you all for the help.
  14. I am seeding the dead sand with little live sand. Question is how long does it take for the process? My tank is a 90 Gal. if anyone has better solution please let me know as I have not started yet.
  15. I have a year and half old Typhoon III that I use for RO (drinking water) and the RO/DI for my reef I tested my TDS and noticed it had gone very high like 40-50 at times so I started looking at replacement filters While going through it I noticed that my DI Bypass was in the OPEN position. I don't know when that was changed so I ran a cleanup by leaving that in open and also changing the Fast Flush to OPEN. the RO and RO/DI left in CLOSED. I ran this for 15 minutes to purge the system. Then I changed to the pure water RO/DI system by keeping the following positions which is what it will stay at for RO/DI use DI BYpass -CLOSED Fast Flush - CLOSED RO - CLOSED RO/DI -OPEN I let it run for about roughly 1.5 hours which I disposed off. I tested this water and it has 18 TDS on the reading I then tested the RO only by going to DI Bypass - CLOSED FF - CLOSED RO - OPEN RO/DI - CLOSED and my reading for the TDS is about 10 so I am confused why the RO is more pure than the RO/DI I have no idea how long my system has been running with the DI Bypass in the wrong (OPEN) position. But its been corrected now. It was defintely in the right position about 4-5 months ago cause my readings were all near 1-3 for the RO/DI Any ideas on what I should do ? Thanks
  16. I did not mean to offend anyone with my comment earlier. Just wanted to bring some fun and jokes. But 12K is a alot of money and i think if you part it might sell faster.

  21. Does anyone has a hang-on nano skimmer? I am look for temporary use.
  22. the extra port can be used per my reading for a few things. It can be used as an ORP or PH. Maybe a backup ph if you want some redundancy or I heard someone using it to control reactors. Idk I am not quite there yet in expertise levels to be sure.
  23. Apex Lite is awesome. There are only couple differences between the lite and the apex full version. One is the additional ph/orp port. The variable speed control if you plan to use tunze pumps etc and dimming feature for vho lights etc. The variable speed control would not be a factor if you use vortech type of pumps and most of the newer leds on the horizon have dimming in them like the AI leds. the extra ph port well I did not need it at the time so I went with the lite. other than that there are no limitations with what the lite can do. they both have access to the same software with net access and same modules for expansion. the RKL/RKE's are also nice. They have some features that the apex cannot do and vice versa. the Net module should be a lot more useful when they finish and release version 2 of their software management. Whichever system you go with you will be happy with. they both are good. if you are on a budget the RKL L1 can't be beat at $99.00. it gives you 4 power ports to control (PC4) and it gives you a temperature probe (iTemp) to monitor and control your heater. But if you needed more from it then you would have to end up getting the additional modules like the SL1/SL2( for ph, ATO, orb, salinity etc) and another pc4 to control more outlets. if you want NET access thats another module you would need. by then you are in the same price point as the apex lite, which I think is tad superior to RKL due to a better display at the control.
