  1. I use a Pro Heat with a digital display. Had it for about 6 months. No issues. Cheers, Sean
  2. Hello all, ok.. so I have a 3 chamber 29 gallon sump. Caulerpa (grape I think) with some LR in the first chamber, 2nd is just a bubble trap with some egg crate built so I can use phosphate remover filter pads there and 3rd is return pump, skimmer pump and heaters. What is happening is: my copepods, larva and eggs are getting caught in the filter pad hence not feeding my tank. I would obviously like them to go back in the display tank. The problem I have is the filter pad also keeps any of the little grape caulerpa things out of my display tank, which I like. Can anyone think of something so I can have the best of both? Cheers, Sean
  3. Thats very sad. You are welcome to come over and scope out any frags you like. Not much is big enough yet but some things are. Cheers, Sean
  4. Totally agree with Leishman. I'm actually heading to BRK today to pick up some light bulbs. I'll probably drive by 3 LFS (not that they are bad or anything) on the way there. I've got no clue what brand I should get but I'm confident John will steer me in the right direction. His personal service and freely given advice are top notch. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm also glad to see that you will continue to shop at BRK. Cheers, Sean
  5. Probably a stupid question but... What is rods food exactly? Cheers, Sean
  6. Just found out my better half has to work. That means I'll be going into Mr. Mom mode. Sounds like I'm gonna miss a good meeting. =( Cheers, Sean
  7. lletellier - Here is the link for the product I was talking about. http://www.blueribbonkoi.com/webcart/prodd...?prod=batbackup gmubeach - I currently use a battery back up designed for computers. The last time the power went out it seemed to me that it would only last 2 hours. And I only had the return pump and 1 150 watt heater plugged in it. Cheers, Sean
  8. Power loss is a fear I have had since starting this hobby. Thank goodness (knock on wood) my power didnt go out with this lastest ice storm. I will be ordering BRK's battery back up soon. Cheers, Sean
  9. I bought one from grey seas aquatics but have not set it up yet. I plan on using a product by ESV. Cheers, Sean
  10. Welcome to WAMAS! I have a bunch of grape calurpa you can have. Cheers, Sean
  11. Welcome to WAMAS. Cheers, Sean
  12. Truly stunning tank. Very nice. With the size of those corals and because of how close they are. How often to you have to trim? I've been diving in all the major tourist traps in the general area except Hawaii. Cayman and Cozumel were very nice. I highly recommend St Lucia, it is one of the furthest island south in the Caribbean. They have a breath reef wall you can dive. Cheers, Sean
  13. I have a Flame Angel and a Bi Colored Angel in a 75 gallon. Other than the Bi Colored showing the Flame whos boss of the tank every once in a while, I have no problems. Cheers, Sean
  14. My power went out this morning (in Woodbridge) for almost 2 hours. My tiny UPS had 20% left on it. I was a nervous wreck. Cheers, Sean
  15. I was told by a (not so) LFS that old 6025 had a defective brace. The newer ones are designed better and reinforced. I had mine replaced at my (not so) LFS no fuss no muss. The (not so) LFS's tunze rep said to replace them as they came in. Cheers, Sean
  16. Any paintball retail store would as well. Pev's is in Woodbridge and Fairfax. Cheers, Sean
  17. I've only been to Roozens once. I dont have a QT so I wont be buying anything from there until to do. I will say the selection was amazing. We went to Fish World and Atlantis (both in Richmond) yesterday. I picked up a starfish, a sea slug and 2 true perculas. The clowns already starting hosting my anemone this morning. I was so excited. Fish World's 1200 gallon tank is so awesome and alone worth the trip to see. Fish World had a huge selection of bigger colonies for sale. Atlantis new set up is very nice, it will be alot better once thier systems mature and they are running like the old store I heard about was. I highly recommend if you have not been to these stores to check them out. Cheers, Sean
  18. Honestly, i'm not sure. Possibly T-5's? I have 2. One is blue and other is white. I will have to ask the gentlemen who set everything up for me. Cheers, Sean
  19. Actually I removed some caulerpa from one of my Tunzes last night but have not seen any on my rock in the display tank. It has done a great job of removing nutrients from the water as far as I can tell. I have never had any hair algae in my display tank since setting (5 months or so) it up. A yellow tang is one of the fish we planned on getting but I was trying to add it last. So I guess I'll remove 3/4 of it and see what happens. Sound ok? Cheers, Sean
  20. When you guys say pull it all. Does that mean get a different kind of macro like Cheato? Or leave a little caulerpa left for it to grow back to where I am now then repeat the cycle? The type of caulerpa I have has the little green ball like pods on it btw. Cheers, Sean
  21. My display tank lights and my refug are on seperate cycles. It has grown very fast since the fist size batch I first put in. What exactly happens when it goes "A-sexual"? Cheers, Sean
  22. Hello all, My refug is not taking as much nutrients out of the water due to excess caulerpa. I've read that if you take to much out it will go a sexual and cause some nightmares in my display tank. So... how much do I take out? Cheers, Sean
  23. I'd like to be put on that list please. Cheers, Sean
