So is this good product or not? If so, I would be interested in 1/2 a bag! Howard

Chakris My 90g has a Mag12 with a SCWD. The switch time is about 4 seconds per side do to the pressure. With a Mag9.5, you should be getting about 10-15 second cycle. Mag's do not recommend anything above a Mag12 due to too much pressure. IMO, the Mag9.5 would work very nicely!!! Howard

Not sure, the curing process is the leaching out of phosphates in the concrete mix itself. The more you turn over water the better. When I was curing mine, I had them in a 5g bucket and every couple of days would just dump out the water and let them over flow for a few moments, let sit for a couple days and repeat. I've heard of some folks putting rocks in a near by creek, but could end of with some unexpected visitors, but I suppose the saltwater would kill them later in a dip. Howard

My current tank has no FD that "I" put in, just hitchhikers from other corals that I brought in and starting to catch on. Only about 1/2"-1" long.

Nice Tank Ben! clp]]

I don't have feather duster "purposely" in by 90g, though I have noticed about 1/2 dozen little ones coming up inside the rocks. Been like that for a while, seem ok. BUT, I believe when I had my 30g tank that the B/W then nipped at them a tad, but didn't seen to bother them to bad.

Mike, Just a great fish, never had a problem, alot of soft corals, mr, zoo's, xenia's, snails, crabs, etc. Loves pods, flake foods, anything you feed it. Especially love that it is always moving and a very beautiful fish. Thumbs up! [tu]

Guys, I'll try to stop in for your party, See my pictures link for photo's of my DIY LR! REMEMBER: #ONE: 5 parts Aragonite/Crushed Corals/etc/etc to 1 PART Portland Cement in your mixing container #TWO: Add water slowly to get the mix right, this will be where it will be wet, but not soupy! #THREE: Take mold tub or container and add sand to IT, not to mix Mike Take a little bit of water to sand to make moist enough so that when you hand form your molds to add Concrete/Aragonite mix to that the walls won't keep falling in. #FOUR: Add mix to mold slowly, remember depending on how your working it, you are usually starting from the top and working to the bottom in an upside down mold. #FIVE: Use extra moist sand to add as you go to form holes, cuts, tunnels, etc in your finished product. I recommend finished product with no more than 3 legs. #SIX: Let dry minimum of 3 days BEFORE touching and/or removing from mold, very fragile at this time. #SEVEN: Take to outside by your hose faucet and rinse off sand showing your beautiful finished product with caves, holes, tunnels, cuts and bumps. #EIGHT: now cure for at least 2-3 months, checking PH after 2. When curing water has the same PH as new water after 1 day in tub, it's cured. Howard BTW, one 80# bag of Portland concrete will last you forever with this formula.

Mike, IMO, forget all that plumbing, KISS- Keep it simple! Go to Fischers Hardware off Backlick and Commerce St. They have all the equipment you need relatively cheap. You can purchase Clear flexible braided HOSE material for all connections, use PVC to create "U" to go over edge of tank and use a Y at end to double your flow directions. LMK, I can meet up with you and show you my setup or meet you during lunch there and recommend some alternatives. Using the flexible hosing, eliminates 100% of errors when it comes to hooking up Hard Plumbing. And a whole lot easier. Howard

Doug, A support bracket is just that, added support to your tank walls. As you can see filling it up, the walls are buckling out. IMO, STOP before you have an indoor pool, add a thin in thickness piece of material epoxied to current support. Should be equal to width and length for durability. Of course, remove water to take weight off the walls. 2nd opinion, go get a new tank. A 65g tank will be supporting over 600# of pressure and that's alot of risk for the price of tanks now adays. Mike The beauty of a closed loop is you don't have to worry about a power failure shutting down the system and dumping water everywhere. Add a strainer & a sponge type cover on the end of pipe lowered into the water to your desired depth. This should be below your current overflows, so not to loose suction. Remember, all your doing in sucking water into one end and return back to the tank on the other. Just creating current! Howard
-
Mike, A closed loop system is nothing more than a single over flow or outbound tube going directly into pump and outflow returning stright into the tank. All your doing in creating more current by circulating the water, nothing more. A mag pump would work great for this and you could use either a single return or put a SCWD on and split the current flow with a Mag5 for example. I'm planning on doing the same to my 90g with either another Mag12 or Mag9.5 soon. Howard PS, I like a closed loop over a bunch of PH, because if removes all the clutter in the tank

Nice step up from our current logo Chris! Would like to see something like this then current logo. More bolder. The ONLY problem I see in it, will be doing for example the shirt logo's. A ton of details to send over, but love the concept! Howard

Michael, I'm going to back out of the Calcium Reactor at this time. Still staying with Kalk, but will wait on the Calcium. Thanks. Howard

I'm running a Mag12 with a SCWD splitting to 1" PVC on each corner. The pressure from the Mag makes the SCWD alternate every 4 seconds between units. I'm thinking of adding another in a closed loop. My water is moving nicely now, should be on a roll with both. This is with a 90g setup, depending on your tank size, a Mag9.5 or 7 will do a fine job and have a slower alternating cycle as well. The nice thing about my future plans with 2 Mag's is that I will always have an alternative if one breaks down. Howard

It's looks like I might be moving later in Sep then I thought but will advise. I thought my dad had won, but it was a table saw and he is in PA. I went to Ebay and noticed quite a few nice one's for sale at reasonable cost. Thinking of investing in one but might be after we do our project. Will try to make a decision sooner than later. Howard

Anyone have access to a large band saw? Would make cutting material a ton easier!

Now folks, take this with a grain of salt, but a guy at Wally's said that JBJ was recalling it's Nano's units (older) for electrical failures with wiring getting salt corrosion. Anyone here of this? I went to the website and saw nothing mentioned. Was funny that they would say this and they are a carrier of these units? Howard

Hey Glenn, Do we have our Logo on a Disk that can be taken to any embrodery shop? Howard
