I have a 120 gal sump drilled with 3 holes for 1" bulkheads. Dimensions are the same as a standard 120 (4x2x2). It does have a small crack on the outside of the glass in a corner. Does not leak, but I would put some silicone over the crack prior to use to be on the safe side. FREE FREE FREE FREE FREE :D :D :p :D :D Just come and get it!!! Also, a 50 gal container full of bioballs. Enough to fill eight 5 gal salt buckets to the top. Great for those with ponds or large fish set ups. $50 Alberto 410-902-0980 PS: will post a picture later.

Well, I just spent literally 6 hours scrapping coralline algae off the 3 viewable panels (tw are 6x 2 1/2 feet and the other is 3x2 1/2 feet) in my 360. Not so much fun I can guarantee you. My neck, shoulders and arms are so sore it's not even funny. Now, I feel as if I had a completely new lighting set up and a new tank. It is amazing the difference it makes. This was all the product of not passing the magnet for only 1 week!! :: ??? :( On a positive note, I found out I would never get a tank taller than 30 inches. That is accounting 6" for a DSB. I could barely touch the bottom with the tips of my fingers now standing on a ladder and mine is just 24 inches tall with a 4-5" DSB!

I couldn't make the site (forum) come up for a couple of days. Had it been down or was it just bad computer mojo?? Alberto

I would also be interested in buying the split, but I see someone else above has first bids to it. Alberto

Same to you. By the way, I guess I never got to say thank you for the frags. Very nice sizes and good colors. Better than the pictures. Alberto

I have not been to any stores since the last meeting (went to Roozen's for the first time) and before that weeks. Today I went by Exotic Aquatics (Baltimore) and they had just received a new shipment of fish this last week. The fish were from Palau and Hawaii. Amazing looking fish, healthy, eating, and great variety. Prices were awesome for the fish type and sizes. I just got an achilles tang about 3-4" for $40, a naso tang 5-6" for $50, and a 6" rabbit fish for $40. That is without the discount. That is the best looking fish I have seen in a long time. Just for kicks, I stopped at Aquarium Center and they had nasos that were 1/3 the size of this one diseased and thin for $70, rabbit fish that were 2" at most and thin as paper for $40, and the same size achilles tang ich infested for $60. They also had tons of gorgeous and colorful wrasses and a few emperator angels ranging from junevile to adults very well priced as well. Highly recommend stoping by if you are looking for fish. DISCLAIMER: No, I don't work for them, get a cut of the sales, or even know the owner. Same goes for any other store in the area for that matter. :D Alberto

By the way, do they offer club discounts? What is it?
-
I am very glad to see the link to the web site. Now I can at least print the price list if I ever go there instead of asking for every freaking thing since they don't post prices. If I wasn't moving in a year and didn't know that most fish wouldn't make the cross country move in the middle of the winter, I would end up maybe buying a large number of fish from them. Of course, I would ahve to quarintine them for like a year :D :D :D

Glad to see they are that happy. I am happy enough to breed right now too. I better go do that...... :: ??? :D

Let me remind you that this is the same wrasse that was with another mandarin for months just about 3 months ago. So, why has it gone medival on the new guy? I don't really know. The mandarin is actually much bigger than the wrasse :( Alberto
-
Well, after sitting on my hands for over 9 weeks, I decided to start getting more fish. I only have a 6-line wrasse, a small school of 6 green chromis, and a yellow tang. Today I got an adult size mandarin fish and a small powder brown tang. As soon as I got the fish in the water, the yellow tang started harrassing the new tang. Completely understandable and expected. Now, 6 hours later, he is begining to ignore him. The problem is with the wrasse. He started to beat and peck on the mandarin from the moment it hit the water. It pecks at it on the head and back of the body and chases him around the tank while doing this. He is not just touching. We are talking about hard hitting abuse. What's up with this?? I ahd another mandarin before in this same tank and this wrasse acted as if he didn't even existed. Why is he doing this with the new one now? Any helpful ideas? Alberto Tank specs: 360 gal with 100 gal sump 4"DSB and 200+ Lb of LR and 300+Lb of base rock. 70+ SPS All parameters in check plenty of pods and other critters to go around!

Choices are limitless here. You could actually go with 400 watt 20K bulbs on e-ballast, e-ballast 250 watt 10K or 6.5K, HQI, you name it. If you choose to go with the 20K bulbs in 400 watt, you won't need the VHO actinics. I don't know about the 250 watt 20K though. 10K you probably will want to supplement with actinics. As far as the VHO ballast, I personally think the icecaps are way overpriced compared to all the other choices. You could go with the hellolights ballast that comes with the endcaps as kits already for much less and get the same performance. Just my opinion. Alberto

Just post a list here with prices. Include the livestock and its prices too. Where are you located?

David: The web site is: www.diyreef.com Alberto

Larry: If you are going to order any of the first 3 and the last one in your list, I would be more than happy to go 50/50 with you. Just let me know and we can exchange hands at the WAMAS meeting coming up.

Great, if you get it to split that way I am interested in the clone if you are planing on selling it. Let me know. Also, thanks for the info on the controller. I actually found a place online that has then already wored and all for $100. Can't beat that, so I am getting one. Alberto PS: how is the reactor working out? Mine is still on the shelf :(
-
I have a kalk reactor from MYREEFCREATIONS.COM It puts in about 7-8 gal of kalk per day, ehich is my evaporation rate. Even with that the Ca is what it is today. I am adding the Ca reactor to make up for the difference. I think if you are going to use kalk for the long haul with an SPS dominated tank. you need to maximize the amount of kalk per day since that is going to be a constant before you start a Ca reactor. Unfortuantely, you too are going to need a Ca reactor. Beware that for a system as big as yours or mine, you can't just use the "little" units most people get for their tanks. Large chamber and large second chamber is in order here because once that tank is jam packed with growing SPS and clams, those reactor working overtime won't be able to keep up. Alberto
-
Great!. I'll give you a call today and maybe I can swing by tonite to get some of it. I want to set up this thing ASAP. The Ca in my tanks is staying at 350-360 and the kalk is definately not doing it by itself.
-
I bought a used Ca reactor from someone in RC and the second chamber leaks at the bottom where it meets the place they sit on. After seing the size of this thing, it is pretty reasonable that it has a small leak. How can I glue this? Wat kind of special acrylic glue is needed? What is it called? Where can one get some of this glue? Thank, Alberto

Thanks Michael. I will try a baggy if you can spare one at the meeting and see how things go. I am likely to do a batch later if things go OK. Alberto
-
So, who is bringing what?? Sand from a refugium with critters anyone??
-
Where can I get some and what kind of tubing is used for Ca reactors? I need it for the CO2 delivery from the regulator to the bubble counter and to the pump. Any local places where I could get it? Alberto

There is a couple of things I'd like to request for the upcoming meeting from my fellow reefers. 1. I don't have any table acros in my tank and would love to get some frags of them if possible. If anyone have any tables in their tanks, I would love to get a frag of it no matter how small it is. Prefer fresh cut and unattached. Yes, I would pay for the frags! 2. Refugium sand: since my new tank has such a large amount of virgin sand, I would love to get some live sand from refugiums from as many people as possible. Only south down sand since it is what I have in my tank. The more critters you can toss in that bag, the better. 3. If anyone has any clams for sale, let me know. I may be interested too. *please don't bring any sand or frags from tanks where you currently have or have had the red bugs. I ahve seen what others are going through in their tanks and I want to stay as far as possible from that. ??? Thanks, Alberto :D

put them in your refugium.

I think these fish should be up there with satan and the ebola virus. I added a pair to my 125 with SPS and all the acropora polyps dissappeared within 3 days. I truely believe they actually ate then because I used to see them picking at it. All the acroporas went completely bald! Since I did not put them in my new tank, all the polyps have cgrown back slowly and now I have corals that look like chia pets! I would highly discourage anyone from getting these damm fish unless you ahve no acroporas in your tank. Geofloors have the same problem I did and he will tell you the missery these fish have put him through as well.
