  1. Congrats on the new tank. Remember, take your time, let the tank fully cycle before you add any fish or corals. Now, if you live in the area, you need to join WAMAS!
  2. Cute little zoas. The reason I asked is because you have to many ideas for fish and I was wondering how many you already had. Not too many it seems, but I would still hold off on that damsel if you want to keep what you already have, no matter what people say. I need to start adding corals to my tank... actually I will have the nano to add corals to soon too. Been waiting tooooo long.
  3. No wrasses for me. I'm not sure about the blue reef chromis - are they like other damsels or peaceful? No on the damsel (excluding possibly chromis - have to get more info)
  4. the meanie damsel i have always got along with the clowns, so that may just be the type of fish
  5. that's for sure. I thought Friday that I would have the tank set up by today.
  6. Tracy, what is you present list of creatures?
  7. Thanks for the suggestions, though those 2 fish are out. Angel may not be reef safe (I don't particularly like the bicolors anyway). Assessors are basslets, which supposedly don't work out well with dottybacks. Damsels... I don't plan on replacing a mean damsel with another damsel, but they really are such nice looking fish. If damsels weren't aggressive I would have a jewel or velvet.
  8. i think yellow tails are less aggressive than others, but either way, supposedly damsels get meaner as they get older.
  9. i had an arrow crab once.... I caught it eating an angel
  10. That stand is going to be awesome. So James, a tank will be your graduation present?
  11. Thank you Bob. Nothing is ever trash until there's no way to fix it or to recycle it. Just like mine, the world's resources are not endless.
  12. Clowns are amazing fish no matter which they are. I would go with the more docile ocellaris rather than the maroons, because you never know what you might come across in the furture that you'll want to keep.
  13. I'm taking ideas for bright blue or mostly blue fish, AND a yello or mostly yellow fish that: 1. can go in a 45g 2. will get along with: 1 orchid (fridmani) dottyback, 1 large female clown & 1 smallish male tomato clown 3. is not difficult to keep healthy 4. is not expensive if obtained from the right source A blue-&-yellow-together fish would be great. I might get a yellow watchman goby for yellow, since I'm having a very difficult time finding something suitable. I can't come up with something blue. Yellow and blue are my favorite fish colors and the only thing with y&b that I had, has been banished from that tank.
  14. Are we talking low-budget photography? Maybe go by megapixwla? The higher the #, the higher the cost of the camera, so go by megapixils maybe?
  15. I discovered that the silcone on the 16g is really worn, so I stripped it out and need to replace it, so if I'm going to use that tank it's going to take me a little while longer. I was hoping to set up within the next few days, but that's not going to happen.
  16. The tank does not leak at all. It's been running as a freshwater tank in my office and I took it down to convert it to salt. The silicone was just really worn down (gone now!). There's no need to get a new tank. This is the 16g I want to use for the nano instead of the 10g so I can put in a DSB. If I have to, I can still use the 10 (only diff in dimensions is height).
  17. Upon draining, cleaning, and inspecting the 10yo office FW tank, I discovered that the silicone was worn to being almost gone. I removed what little was there and now have to go get some tubes and re-seal. Does anyone have some tips to share on doing this, before I mess up the tank with wild silicone all over the glass? This old tank will hopefully still be able to be my nano.
  18. it went the other way when I had a shrimp in my tank... shrimp feasting on clown eggs
  19. I am going to be putting liverock in mine once I have my nano together
  20. The FW plants are gone.... NOW I can drain this thing and get started. Too bad I have to take it home to just to clean it up.
  21. seriously! It seems to me that more reefers need to join their local clubs - that's the best way to keep cost down and keep from tearing up wild reefs.
  22. Tracy, we're gonna have to find you a real man.
  23. if it's the one that was there 2 days ago, I had emailed about it a couple hours after it was posted and the guy told me it was already gone.
