  1. If he backs out I might be willing to work out a similar trade
  2. if you are just topping off with the effluent this should not raise your ph as drastically but a monitor is not a bad idea I drip mine and my ph gets up to 8.5 during the day and at night settles around 8.3
  3. They are anemone looking things that will sting/strangle your corals. They spread fast and are a pain to get rid of kind of like aptasia except I think they look kinda cool.
  4. For $25 I'm sure someone on here can make you one
  5. I know this wouldn't work for you bob but for us nano people isnt there a low cost reef life support that i've seen on a couple peoples systems?
  6. that clam still doesn't look happy, they like a lot of light so you may want to consider redoing your rockwork and putting the clam directly under your halide (thats what that is right??) Keep in mind that clams will quickly drain your calcium on a tank that small so if you want to see them happy and healthy you are going to need to either change your water more frequently or dose something. Also take my advice, get the hippo out now. As he grows and he will grow fast, he will add a lot of bio load to your tank and on a system that small with that little rock your setting yourself up for a crash (I speak from experience). Sell him and the fluvals and invest in a good hob skimmer and a little more rock, then work from there. You can always buy another one later on down the road when you have the space. Just my 2 cents
  7. I've seen a 220 with just a wave box and that was all, they create a lot of flow... but they are bulky
  8. I happened to have a container with Dschflier's water and I measured it with the pH meter and I get a reading of 8.20. That makes me think something may be wrong with your probe... I don't think daves water would be that high.
  9. what is that pvc coming off the holder? if yours doesn't have that and bk doesn't take it I'd be interested. Might help me even more with my bubbles :/
  10. awesome looking setup, the tile looks great
  11. i'd need to see a screen shot to buy that one
  12. I run uv and I do weekly 5 gallon water changes on my 20 gallon tank. If I do a freshwater dunk what is the best way to do that? how long do I hold them under, do I put the fish back in the tank after? thanks
  13. They are tiny parasitic worms that move around if that is the case could a freshwater dunk help?? Also steve... the spots are all over not just in one area I could be wrong but I don't think that is what is happening
  14. I don't think it is getting its color considering the black spots are on the orange parts of its body... seems to be acting normal IMO
  15. not what I want to hear! anyone know what they could be?
  16. I was looking at my clowns today and one of them has several black dots on him. Is he ok? if not what should I do?
  17. Thanks! going to add another tunze nano stream to my system since i'm not crazy about the flow. I think i'm going to mount it top left and point it right at my sps. Hopefully that will give me what I want, if it doesn't i'm going to have to figure out a different configuration to maximize flow.
  18. I will see what I can do about getting a hosting shot... untill then...

  20. my clowns started hosting this week... but not in my 4" rbta they chose my 1" purple lta... I'm keeping an eye on it to make sure they don't beat it up too badly
  21. sick fish most likely means poor water quality... test and I'd do a water change either way
