How did folks glue the ice maker tubing to the inside of the Quick disconnect fitting? I tried the following - super glue liquid type, pvc primer neither of these worked. I will try weldon #3 and see if that does any good. -krish

Chip et all, I have about 11 of the quick disconnect 1/4" fittings(Threaded part is 1/2" and it is the right one). I emptied the inventory in Sterling HD. The 1/4 - 20 Nylon wing nuts, i was only about to get enough for 2.5 reactors. I emptied the inventory in Sterling Lowes -krish

Ben, What are your tank dimensions? Please provide details of the Ice cap ballast. To keep costs to a minimum, i would keep the 2x96W setup, just purchase the 96W actinics lamps and use it along with a say 250W Metal Hallide 10K lamp. Don't know how your current PC lighting is setup. But in either case, making a canopy and using the stuff you alread have will always work out cheaper. Of course, there is the custom wiring aspect of it. You will need to get some help to mess with the electricals. -krish

Folks, I heard back from Hello lights. Our Grand Total = 693.35 They will do the order for $600. That is about 13% discount. The skinny is that we foot the shipping of $30.95. So after the discount, it puts us at approx 8.99% = 9% discount. Is this amenable to folks on the fence? You basically take off 9% off the marked price on your items. Yea, I am planning on roping a bit. The idea is to sent the sample potential order now and let them know that some folks are on the fence. The 30G trash can with lid is about 8 bucks in walmart. You can store water for the fishies. Not drinking water. The plastic is not high grade. I normally don't store too much water, since it needs to be kept aerated. -krish

Folks, I got a call from Kannan about this issue. He purchased the last SPS colony for 20 bucks. He mentioned that when he got home and opened the package, it was pretty bad. So having lost 20 bucks, it did not stop at that. A colony that he had for over a year is taking a hit as well. The colony was placed near the one that came RTNed from Dr. Mac. I had 2 frags RTN, the last year when i purchased from Dr. Mac. So the story is, better to purchase from local reefers, where you can go and get a fresh cut. -krish

Dave, Good question. It appears that it will be drop shipped as a single shipment. I can receive the shipment and co-ordinate the collection. Hellolights specifically mentioned about this. My take is that, doing a single shipment cuts costs from the vendors standpoint. -krish

Lori, I would leave the fish in the display tank and just slowly lower the salinity over to 1.020. I have a hippo that is pretty susceptible to Ick. Fought the Ick using various means - QT, UV etc. I am seeing substantial difference after having dropped the salinity to 1.021. This will help since it will not stress the fish by moving to QT etc. My 2 cents. -krish
