  1. M2600 2600gph/10000lph 8.27" x 3.15" x 4.13"/21cm x 8cm x 10.5cm 55W these things are 8 inches long!!!! that is huge!!! where could I put them so the are somewhat out of sight. I see that they can be mounted vertical or horizontal. If I mount them vertical can 1/3 of the 8 inches be out of the water? From the picture it looks like the water intake is in the middle. Is there even a mounting option for this. Also where would I put these, in each corner pointed toward the center? I dont know if the toadstool would like all that flow on him? I would be adding 5200 gph to the system. so total turn over would be 60 for the entire tank. Is this overkill?
  2. Thank you everyone for there input. I will probably go with a couple of Seios for now. Yeah I know, cheap fix. regarding the maxijets breaking. My impeller would always break away from the magnet. It happened to all 4 of the 1200's I was using. I used them on a red sea pro wavemaker. So I do not really know what happened to them.
  3. Lee, Thanks for the input. I did have 4 maxijet 1200 on a red sea wavemaker but the maxijets are worthless and clogged up and died within 6 months or so. I am down to 1 working maxijet now and would rather not go that route again because I am wasting money when the impellers break all the time.
  4. My set up: 125g rr 2 mag 9.5 returns to each corner of tank pointed toward center from 2 split outlets 1 dying maxi-jet 1200 in one corner. here is a picture to show you the setup. the powerheads are gone in the picture. It is pretty stocked with SPS and one huge Toadstool. This is a picture about 4 months ago, so corals are bigger now Now, I would like to upgrade my flow in the tank. I am thinking either 2 seio 1500 or 2600's or two Tunze streams. I would like to get a pair of streams but they are really expensive and can't decide which set up would be ideal for mine. 2 6060s without controller or 2 6000's with controller (~$700) Can some people comment on what would be best for my setup, being that it is 6 feet long and I would like to make it a hurricane in there. Thanks for the input.
  5. I need 2 72" URI VHO actinic bulbs. 46.5" and longer bulbs are shipped free only if 6 or more bulbs are ordered. I need 4 more bulbs ordered to get free shipping. Anyone want to go in onthis. check pricing on individual bulbs at their website. Thanks
  6. The press-n-seal stuff is just as good as the tops. Not a drop was left in the trunk!!
  7. that flow is going to be impressive. Nice tank by the way!! B)
  8. Thanks again for the overwelming support! Thanks BeltwayBandit for the water last night. Rob (neon) sending pm now. Thanks Jake for offering your water! :77:
  9. I am ordering another Aqua-safe unit. I had the 75gph unit and ordered a 100 gph system. I never had any problems with it and it always produced 0 tds. The ro membrane just died over the weekend and is not producing any water so I ordered another one.
  10. Thanks Dave, its worth a shot while I am waiting. What is the typical lifespan of a RO membrane (75gph unit). how many gallons will it produce, etc?
  11. WAMAS community is the best!!!! Thanks BeltwayBandit
  12. My Ro/Di system finally gave out on me this past weekend. My RO membrane is exhausted after 2 years of running straight. I am ordering a new system but in the mean time my evaporation is faster than I can keep up. I am losing about 2 to 3 gallons a day in evap and now have 0 water output from my system. Does anyone know where I can purchase water or anyone who might be willing to help out for maybe say a couple FREE frags :77: I live in Kingstowne, alexandria. I would need about 30-40 gallons of water while the system is being delivered to my house. I would be greatful if someone could help me out. Thanks
  13. Have not been on here in a while, working hard. So my tank has grown up alot. everyones tank looks beautiful!
  14. Isn't that the truth about something happening while on vacation. I planned my tank including 2 return pumps for just this case, if one blows I still have the other running turning over water to the sump for skimming. It scares me to have only 1 main pump. Thanks everyone again!
  15. Bob, Thank you so much for letting me borrow your pump while I am out on vacation. See you tonight Tom thank you so much for offering to let me borrow your pump. I will hit you up with a frag at the next meet for just offering to help! This is what this club is about, helping people out. Just remind me
  16. One of my pumps died on me. I am going out on vacation on Thursday for a week. Why does this always happen, something breaking before vacation. It just blows my mind. So I beg everyone to go look in the corners of your closets for a 9.5 magdrive that I can use till I get back from vacation. I got some free frags (sps, lps, softies) for the helper I have ordered a new one so you will be getting it back. Thanks
  17. Mike, I want to come over and use my CSI skills. Seriously, I am full this weekend but can come over early next week. Give me a ring and we can set something up. I know it is frustrating. Been there done that as they say. The key to this hob is patience. It takes a couple of killing fish to find this out. Leave the system alone for a week or two and I bet things stable out and correct it on its own. Live things usually do this, they get upset when one fiddles with something too much, all it needs is some time to get in a routine. Anyways call me!
  18. note to self, change filters before posting about filter not producing like it used to. :D I changed all the filters a couple of days ago and flushed the RO membrane for an hour or so and everything checkout great. It is back up and producing like it used to. I need to start writing down the exact date to change all my filters. I guess I am using more water than I thinking I am. Hope some people learned to change the filters after this thread is over!
  19. Ok, I will be going on some vacations and I want to have this top off worry out of my brain when I am away. My set up: RO/DI to 30 gallon trash can with float switch above my nielson reactor. From the bottom of the trash can I gravity feed my Nielson reactor that is right below the trash can (3 feet). The outflow of the reactor goes to my sump (15 feet away) where I have a shut off valve that I have a set drip rate, about 1 drop per second for adding the kalk water to my sump. I check the drip everyday to make sure it is has the drip rate I want and the level in my sump is where it needs to be. Now, I want to be able to go away for lets say a week and make sure that my sump level is perfect and my top-off (kalk water) is feeding the sump with no problems. THis is a pure gravity set up right now. What top off systems will be a plug and play for my system? Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155? etc. Thanks
  20. I usually run around 3 gallons per day on top off so I should get about 6 months (500 gallons) out of all my filters except the RO membrane . The RO membrane is supposed to good for alot longer than the other filters. I was thinking it should process around 3000 gallons of water without expiring. I would be up to around 1500 gallons produced so far (500 gallons per 6 months X 3 (1 and half years I have had it)). My normal tap water is around 200 TDS I have not noticed any pressure drop throughout the house in faucets or shower output. I guess I will email them and talk to them. I guess the bettter quesiton here is, will I notice a decrease in production after the RO is dead even though it is still producing quality RO water? Is it just clogged up?
  21. its plumbed in under the kitchen sink, I checked all tubes to make sure they were clean and not plugged with crud. Can an RO membrane go bad in a year and a half?
  22. I have a RO/DI system from Aqua-safe systems. I bought it about a year and a half ago and have noticed lately that it is not producing the quantity that it used to. I check to see if the RO had fail by checking the TDS after the RO filter and it was around 17 TDS, whereas the normal tap water is around 200. After the DI it gets it to 0-1 TDS. The system is the 75 gph system and after it runs through all the membranes I am only getting maybe 2 drops per second. When I first bought the system it was almost a steady stream of new RO/DI water coming out. I change the filters every six months as scheduled and flush the RO membrane every once in a while. Why has my Ro/di water production dropped so drastically? its only 1 and half years old. Thanks
  23. Mike, I have this wierd neon green stuff that is growing over the rock, I do not think it is hair algae I might have to go and take a picture to see what it is. Any help. you should pump your skimmer up!!! make the stuff it pulls out look like pee,
