  1. i have 3 250 watter 10k running for about 5 months and they are still white.
  2. Quazi, your frogspawn is on the far right side and is about as big as a basket ball! It is a monster! In that picture it is smaller than it usually expands, cause the lights had just turned on and it expands as the day goes on. Does the Toadstool in the middle look familiar? It is the one you gave me! It has doubled in size and is has the most amazing polyp expansion I have ever seen! I will attach some closeups on that! Clownfish (Mike), Thanks for complement! I need to get myself over to your place to see yours!! I hope it is going good... got anything to trade? ]]]bdwn I have rearranged some of the rocks a little, but everything is just growing like crazy lately (hint one year mark=maturity) I will post some more pictures in a little. Sam
  3. Just thought I would share! Enjoy clp]] more close ups if anyone wants to see any? Its a 125g
  4. ARM media is for a calcium reactor not a kalk reactor (nielsen). I went and looked at the thread, and you will be ordering calcium hydroxide (pickling powder) not ARM (aragonite reactor media). I hope this clears things up. If I am wrong I apologize. gvl]]
  5. Ok who wants to go in with me and get a 50 lb bag of ARM media? Pm me and we will go from there.

you have seen mine in action. I have a Euro-reef ES 6-2+ and it pulls stuff out great.
  7. Welcome to WAMAS! Try and make frag work shop in Oct. it will be fun. Everyone is always welcome here. See you at the meeting
  8. thats how my sump/ fuge is set up. Great design. I like it because the water going to the fuge is unskimmed.
  9. well I am going to order some ARM media, and it comes by the pound. I think a good 8 pounds fits in a normal single calcium reactor. Does anyone want to split shipping and order with me? I will probably order 2 bags. From marine depot ARM 8lbs are 21.99 plus shipping is that a decent price or does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy from. Thanks Sam
  10. Well its time to refill the reactor and I was wondering what everyone uses. I used arm media the first time around. What does everyone use and are there other cheaper alternatives that do not have hight phosphates. Thanks
  11. I like it alot. I am up for a change!
  12. hippo tang, yellow tang, pair tomato clowns, algae blenny, royal gramma, and 6 green chromis clp]] the perfect combination in my opinion. Well I am bias, because that is what I have in my tank tng
  13. nothing like a good jolt to wake you up tng . Just make sure you have the circuit breaker off for that plug. You can test it easy by pluging a lamp up and then flipping individual breakers till the lamp goes off. Then just read the directions the GFCI came with. Pretty self explanitory. read the directions, thats all I did and turned out good
  14. ha, install one please, or maybe you might not be posting here anymore. ]]]bdwn on a side note I was sliding my canopy off the front a month back and I have a fan clipped on the back of the canopy to keep the mh cool, well I forgot to take the fan off before I start taking the canopy off. Well you can see where this is going. The fan fell into the water and the GFCI tripped. Now, no hands were in the tank at the time the fan fell in but if a hand was in there and I did not have a GFCI, I probably would not be posting here right now. So do yourself a big favor and install a GFCI. They are life savers, no seriously they are! Sam
  15. I built mine, it is pretty easy. The key is getting a lid that can keep a seal and making sure your maxi jet plumbing does not fail or leak. other than that its not bad. Good luck. Sam

    Hi all!

Great looking tank, welcome to WAMAS, we have a great group here! Sam
  17. I was able to bring a 14 incher back from turks and caicos when we went diving for conchs, they told me to bleach it to kill off all the dying matter so it would not smell. I would be cautious to put one in a tank that was bought from a store, cause they might use bleach also and when put into a tank it might leach out into the water. Just a thought. Sam
  18. Congrats Ben!! prt that is something to be proud of! Sam
  19. Input is ~265 ooh after RO ~16 after DI 1-2 clp]] I bought that 75 gpd on ebay for 150 that includes 3 years of filters, not a bad buy!
  20. What is the ph of the effluent out of a Kalk reactor (neilson) supposed to be? Mine is reading around 10.80 ph. I thought it was supposed to be alot higher than that. I think I may need to recharge it. Thanks Sam
  21. I have been runing 3 250 10K XM's for almost 6 months now. Just that one problem I had, but that is taken care of now. clp]]
  22. hellolights is awsome, I had a xm go out on me, it was like 3 months old and they gave me a brand new one. They are have oustanding response and customer satisfaction. I will probably order all my bulbs from there again. They match prices also.
  23. lots of powerheads in the tank. what happens is the fans come on when the lights come on and that causes evaporation if you are directing the fans at the top of the water, which lowers the tank temp. The fans are on a timer and when the lights go out and the fans go off, then powerheads give off enough heat to slowly make your tank temp rise. was that confusing ooh . Well this is one senario that can happen. Sam
