  2. Its a standard 55 gallon want to sell as complete set up.

  4. Todd you took all of mine now come and get those pumps.
  5. sent pm. The tank setup does not include lights, skimmer, live rock etc and its empty now.
  6. A little history on the sacro. I got it from Quazi back in 2003 sometime. It was roughly 6-7 inches and in a 55 gallon. He can jump on here and let everyone know how long he had it for. Once I put it into my tank, it grew uncontrollably to a wopping 2.5 by 2 foot diameter and a stock roughly a foot. I sold it to a local reefer and was considering donating it to the Baltimore aquarium or somewhere in DC if I could not sell it. It was a showcase of all showcases in my book. I am already missing the hobby. The house sounds empty now that the tank is down. I miss the background noise and that ambient glow of the tank. Someone buy this setup from me!!!
  7. That "anenome" you guys are talking about is actually a huge sacrophyton (toadstool). It weighed around 45 pounds when we took it out. It was massive. Update on whats sold loa sold backpak sold

  9. Thanks for taking if off my hands. It was/still is a great skimmer!!!! Thats some great foam its making, its the best for plug and play skimmers.
  10. Todd, You know what I am going to recommend . I have a trusty Euro-reef es 6-2+ with the sedra 5000. Let me know.
  11. Each corner has an overflow and a return line. Each return line has 3 loc line openings to disperse the flow to different parts of the tank. So 2 pumps to 2 returns (each corner) to 6 outlets in tank.
  12. Hi Todd, You saw how I had my 125 set up. I have 2 mag 9.5 running. I like this set up for 2 reasons: 1) if one pump fails I still have one running so the tank is still getting turned over to the sump and 2? I can have water being pump to each corner of the tank and directionally pointed where I want the water flow to go. Plus the water flow is about an equivilent to one mag 18 but I think the 2 pump advantage outways just 1 pump configurations. Cheers. Sam
  13. I have this pink turf algae that is growing all over the place and it is really annoying. Anyone know if any fish munch on it? I used to have a blue tang and a yellow tang and never had a problem with this stuff. After I got rid of them the pink turf algae is growing everywhere. Anyone have any advise on this stuff. Thanks
  14. Glad to see the frogspawn has a great new home Your tank looks beautiful!!!!
  15. what other types of xenia is there? pom pom and silver elongated were the only ones I knew of. I might have seen some blue ones. But anyways, I have a big island of silver elongated probably with 500 stalks and my clowns are happy with my foot wide toadstool.
  16. Mike, Thanks for sharing your experience with us!!! Those are some great pictures!! Sounds like you had the time of your life. B)
  17. I am expecting 2 Seios 2600's for my 125 this tuesday. You are more than welcome to come over to see the setup. I will report back when I set them up.
  18. Problem being, is that the skimmer would be out of sump and the overflowing skimmer will dump alot of water on the floor and can cause alot of problems in a sump when the water level gets low enough for the return pumps to not have any water to pump to the main tank. Add in if you have a float switch or other water top off that detects the low water level it would be dumping fresh water or kalk water (worst senario) into the sump and decrease your salinity and raising ph,alk levels through the roof. Big problem if this occors while your at work. I know when my ER goes crazy its not a little drip, its a constant flow over the top of the skimmer which goes right back into the sump. No harm no foul.
  19. :D correct. This is the only way I would do an external skimmer. Someone with a beckett will step in an tell you about their skimmer
  20. I know that if I had to buy a skimmer "not in sump" I would be buying a skimmer that has a collection cup that shuts the feed air off so that if it went crazy (bubling over) it would shut off skimming. My skimmer sometime goes crazy, usually when feeding certain types of food, and overflows. I could only imagine coming home to a skimmer that is going crazy and dumped alot of water on the floor.
  21. So I guess the real question is what will I benefit from upgrading my flow? The only flow in the tank is from my 2 mag 9.5's and a winky maxijet 1200. This gives the tank around 15x gallons an hour. All my corals are fine with this rate. My sps are growing faster than they ever have and the color is better than ever. so.....what will increasing the flow to ~55x gallons an our do to the system? That is a 3.5 fold increase in flow. Thats alot.
  22. discordja, I was thinking the same thing about the sand and a 60x turn over. I calculated this correctly? 2 9.5 mags= 2x950gph=~1900gph 2 2600 seios=2x2600gph=5200gph (1900+5200)/125g=56.8 gallons turn over per hour the mags are in the sump so they have some head loss around 4 feet but I thought they were 950gph at 4 feet rated. ps. thanks for the link to the mod!!
