1mp3r1al November 8, 2020 November 8, 2020 I am looking to bond an ABS baffle to glass, anyone know of the best reef safe black caulk to use to do this? Thanks!
AlanM November 9, 2020 November 9, 2020 The classic one is Dow (Momentive/GE) RTV103. Most people say you don't want one with any of the anti-microbial additives, and this one has been used by many people for many years. You can get it from McMaster (with a certificate and test report giving the contents of that lot) easier than from the wall of caulk at the big box stores, I assume. https://www.mcmaster.com/7545A562/ Aquarium supply retailers also probably sell caulk that has been found to be reef safe.
1mp3r1al November 9, 2020 Author November 9, 2020 (edited) Thanks AlanM! I was looking at this caulk, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001R0GUZG/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Says it's waterproof, but I cannot find any information about it having any anti-microbial additives. Also this one... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N1AMY0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Edited November 9, 2020 by 1mp3r1al
