DIY overflow for an AIO?

Trying to make my own AIO. Anyone have any ideas on how to cut "grates" into acrylic without a CNC or router?

Drill, saw and file? Tedious. 

 

Alternatively, you could 3D print the grate (with a lip) and glue it into a pre-cut opening. In this case, I'd choose ABS or PETG as the material over PLA.

Thanks. I ended up growing impatient after trying several methods and just drilled a bunch of holes.

I have put slots in acrylic using a wood burning tool, just melted into it and trimmed off the excess the filed smooth.
