So I started to do a water change tonight.,. I turned my skimmer off and a minute later one of my Blueline 40  HD-X's just stopped pumping. I turned it on and off and it just sounds funny, like a jet engine? Anyone ever experience this and know what could be causing that? I primed the pump, checked for obstructions in the line etc etc... I took the pump apart everything looks fine, pretty clean wiped everything anyway. I reinstalled the pump and same noise and no water. Of course the is the only piece of equipment  that I do not have a backup for, was considering using a single larger pump and put off getting a backup... stupid stupid...

Anyway does anyone know where I can get a replacement, like yesterday? Any LFS around the area that sell them? If not would take a single Reef Flo or Iwaki?

Sounds like the impeller separated from the drive shaft. If you can remove the shaft and impeller, you can more closely

What's the status on your pump situation?

I rigged 2 backup MAG 9's on my display. I will get in touch with Blueline and send it in, it is still under warranty.  I am now in the same situation I was before trying to decide to get a larger single pump or just replace the Blueline with an Iwaki...

So you're ok for now?
