Bruleyii October 20, 2016 Share October 20, 2016 Thats some good color on that. I have really wanted one for a while but a few things have held me back. Mostly because my tank isnt ready for at the moment. but also the color splatters never seem to look great. You got some good colors on that one. GOSKN5 October 21, 2016 Author Share October 21, 2016 Would it be detrimental to the elegance if I cut the tip off the base? To make it flat so it will sit on the barebottom? It is not open much today and im wondering if it's too much light or flow...
L8 2 RISE October 21, 2016 Share October 21, 2016 I think it would be ok. If Ellegence corals are like a few other LPS corals (my experience makes me believe they are)- the tip is used to secure the newly settled polyp to a hard surface in the ocean- as the coral grows, this often breaks under the weight of the coral and gets worn down. Without seeing/examining myself, I wouldn't say for sure though. In my tank, I glued the tip in between two LR rubble pieces and burried them in the sand to raise the coral out of the sand and give it more stability. As the elegence grew, the tip sort of faded away and it now just sits flat on the sand.
