Joshifer September 6, 2016 September 6, 2016 People on this forum scared the heck outta me with them. That they nuke tanks or randomly explode. Lol. What about mini carpet anemones? They seem more like mushrooms. I read up a little about them they stay and inch or two and don't roam around. Maybe I better not. They terrify me lol. I'll get a purple torch and pretend it's a nem.
WheresTheReef September 7, 2016 September 7, 2016 How about rock nems? They pretty much stay in place and come in really nice colors.
WheresTheReef September 7, 2016 September 7, 2016 Regardless, cover any pump intakes or you end up with a mess of a nem!
Joshifer September 7, 2016 Author September 7, 2016 Regardless, cover any pump intakes or you end up with a mess of a nem! I use fountain pumps their not blade type and completely sealed. But too many horror story's about nems. I'd rather not. Especially in a pico.
Bruleyii September 7, 2016 September 7, 2016 A nice rock nem is always fun. I had one for a while. Id wait either way until the tank is a little more mature. Mine ended up dying from what I think was the alk swings I had. Nems love very stable tanks from what ive read and experienced.
gmerek2 September 7, 2016 September 7, 2016 (edited) i am a true believer that the tank needs to be older than 9months. I been keeping nems a few years no problems and the test one I transferred to my new tank suffered till the tank got older. Edited September 7, 2016 by gmerek2
Joshifer September 7, 2016 Author September 7, 2016 Nooo. Nems scare me. I only asked about the carpet figured it's less difficult then a regular one. Maybe next year. A rose bubble. Or a purple long tentacle.
