javelin911 June 6, 2016 June 6, 2016 This is not a sale thread, just trying to figure out the best way to get this done without a lot of time and mess. I am going to shut down my 265. Just too much to keep up with and too much money. Anyways... What is the best way to remove the fish and coral to sell? I don't have any way to store them in something small really and not sure how it would work. The tank is so big catching everything will be a royal pain or impossible. Thoughts? I have a bunch of fish and some coral (couple small green stoney things, few polyps, some shrooms) Hybrid Powder Blue Tang Yellow Tang 2x Clowns 2x Black Clowns Anemone Anemone File Fish Urchin Royal Gramma a purplish dottyback - long skinny lemon peel chromis 2x Anthias Maybe a starfish red shrimp cleaner shrimp maybe a snapping shrimp
epleeds June 6, 2016 June 6, 2016 I have a 100 gallon stock tank your more then welcome to borrow. Not sure where your located but I'm out near Manassas/Gainesville. You could drain everything into that which would make it easier to catch when you sell
Origami June 13, 2016 June 13, 2016 Remember, the rock is an important part of your filtration system most likely. So you don't want to remove it before a lot of your livestock is sold. However, if you leave it, catching fish can be difficult as they'll use it as cover to evade you. No matter how you look at it, it's going to be disruptive for your fish if you start moving things around and chasing things. If you had a sump, you could shoot pictures of all your coral and move a lot of your rock to a sump connected to the system so filtration remains relatively stable. If you pulled a lot of the rock, you could set up a compartment (or several) in your tank using egg crate wedged in to create a wall in your tank. Move all the fish to one side and then, put your rocks and remaining coral on the other side. As this would put all your fish in the open with one another, this may not be the best set up and you may want to add a few compartments to reduce aggression. Lowering the water level is a great way to corner and catch your fish quickly.

javelin911 June 17, 2016 Author June 17, 2016 Thanks for the suggestions. I need to find a weekend that isn't completely crazy. Then I can clean up the black 100g portable and see what I can do. More when I get that far! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
