Panda's 180g Tank and Stand Build.

Recommended Posts

Ok here is a photo of the start to the stand for my 180.

Lumber

After this photo was taken I have cut the lumber to size but got cold in the garage and lost the light so I will post another tomorrow. I know its just wood but I'm excited.

Front doors finished and installed. Trying to decide if I want some type of design in the center of the doors.

Super disappointing set back last night. Went to pick up my new 180 and luckily I tore the cardboard protector off the bottom first. I found the bottom end support and trim broken. Now have to wait another entire week to get a replacement sent.

Super Sad Panda.

Bad luck! Sorry. Well, at least this time, you've got a reputable dealer helping out.

Patience, Panda. You'll need it in this hobby! It's only a week....

I know thanks. And once things are running I am patient. But I have been looking forward to setting everything up this weekend. I'm like a child when it comes to this hobby, I want to pout and stomp my feet.

On wood floor yes. Nothing between it and the floor. Not sure if you can see in the photo the inside of the stand has 8" walls all the way around the base that are sealed with silicone and then Killz so I will have an extra X number of gallons before it could get to the floor. I also plan on having a leak detector through my Apex. I feel comfortable with this set up.

Its like Christmas. UPS just dropped off my new Apex and I have trash cans around the house (the wife is getting upset) with 180 gallons of RODI water in them but no tank..........

Thank you. It was easy to install and I think turned out well. I still need to place the trim on the edges and floor. First time I ever tried making my own doors as well.
