collegeman January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 After moving around 1.5 years ago I knew I wanted a new tank. I upgraded my 80 gallon shallow reef to a standard 120. I was happy for a few months but realize it wasn't the right tank for me. A few months later I got a 125. I think this will be my final tank. It was originally going to be a fowlr but I decided i will add a few soft corals and macroalgae. Equipment- 6ft 125 gallon tank, 75 gallon sump, custom built stand, IT2080 led light, tunze and wp25 powerhead, sulfur reactor, 2 heaters, reef octopus skimmer and a mag 5 return pump. Maintenance- clean filter sock 1-2 times a week, 30 gallon water change every 1-2 months. The sulfur reactor keep nitrates between 0-10.
dipg January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 Love the fish collection. Something different which I rarely see here.
zygote2k January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 22 fish and 10 ppm NO3 in a 125 is impressive. What's the system like?
collegeman January 24, 2016 Author January 24, 2016 Thanks for the complements everyone. I have a sulfur reactor which keeps the nitrates very low. Without it I was doing very large water changes often. I am able to feed the tank however much I want now.
collegeman January 24, 2016 Author January 24, 2016 Here is a link to the sulfur media I use. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/psf01-sulpur-no3-media-1-kg-skimz.html
