malacoda January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 Am really looking forward to attending my first WAMAS meeting this coming weekend - but looks like the extended forecast is currently calling for up to 12" of snow in the D.C. area Friday into Saturday... I don't put much stock into rain or snow forecasts that are two days out let alone 5 days away - a lot can change between now and then. Just curious though, is there a standing inclement weather policy for WAMAS meetings, or any kind of rain date policy?
DaveS January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 I think the policy is to read the board and see what is being posted. http://wamas.org/forums/topic/76699-inclement-weather/
WilRams January 19, 2016 Share January 19, 2016 I have a flight to catch Saturday morning! So for once I hoping for no snow.
Origami January 20, 2016 Share January 20, 2016 The WAMAS Winter Meeting featuring James Fatheree is postponed. It should come as little surprise, with the weather we are expected to receive, that the Board has decided to postpone this Saturday's meeting. Over the last 24 hours, the Board and others involved in meeting preparations have been discussing the situation, including a date for a rescheduled meeting as well as the availability of our guest speaker. At this time, we are heavily leaning toward a new date of Saturday, February 20 for the Winter Meeting. We are still working to confirm rescheduling of our speaker and may, if the situation dictates, feature a different speaker for this meeting. Additional information will be posted as the situation becomes more clear. Thank you.
