I saw a few eyeless tangs on R2R over the months.

What's the point of this? Is it a defect or? Can he actually swim well enough like that?

It looks like it has some minor steering problems but does well enough to get by. Should do great in aquaria life since there is unlimited food opportunity. Maybe it got bit off by a shark

Poor fishy. Probably the rare instance when a wild-caught fish benefits from being in an aquarium rather than the ocean.
