tpallas March 22, 2015 March 22, 2015 I've noticed issues with LED acclimatization. I use a Sol Blue on one of my tanks and have the whites max out at 15%. When it was on a larger tank I had the whites on 40% and if I did not acclimatize, I would get bleaching. So many dealers run under blues to show off flourescense with lower PAR and I think bringing them under strong white LEDs right off the bat causes them to bleach. I would try a frag in a shaded location and see if it reacts the same or differently, to control for lighting.

I do acclimate my frag's by putting them on at the bottom of my tank and underneath the shade of a rock for about 2 weeks. But that is a good point I never really thought about at fish stores.
ddouglass March 22, 2015 Author March 22, 2015 I saw this http://www.aquaticlog.com/radion is this accurate?
ddouglass March 22, 2015 Author March 22, 2015 If so with my tank at 19 inches deep and 35% I would have to move a lot of corals to the top of my tank...
zygote2k March 23, 2015 March 23, 2015 have you tested for copper? Copper doesn't kill all inverts at certain levels but will certainly kill sensitive corals. I had a tank with symptoms similar to yours and found out that copper-laden well water was the culprit. Some corals survived the copper but others did not.

ddouglass March 23, 2015 Author March 23, 2015 I changed my schedule on my lights to be on only 10 hours during the day and decreased the overall to 35%. hopefully this is the problem. Does anyone else have a suggestion? I still have some dieing coral in my tank that I would rather not die :(
