edress714 February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 Hello wamas. Happy snowday to everyone. Wanted to get the name of the faucet adapter for my rodi. I'm going to connect it to my outdoor faucet (it's located inside the garage) what am I looking for when I go to home depot? Thanks again
Coral Hind February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about but if you want to connect to a hose bib then below is what I use. I installed a two way "Y" connector with mine so i could still use a garden hose. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Watts-3-4-in-x-1-4-in-Lead-Free-Brass-MGH-x-FIP-Adapter-LFA-696/203473937 If you want to tap into a water line then you could use a self piercing saddle valve like the link below. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Watts-1-4-in-x-1-4-in-Lead-Free-Brass-Compression-x-Compression-Self-Tapping-Saddle-Valve-LF-A50/202254838
zygote2k February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 He's talking about a push-loc R/O faucet adapter, but that brass type is much nicer.
AlanM February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 (edited) One of these? http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/mur-lok-garden-hose-utility-sink-adapter.html You want 3/4 garden hose female to 1/4 push lock. The one that coral hind posted above will work well too if it comes with a brass tubing insert for the compression fitting, I think, but it is more permanent than push lock. edress714 February 22, 2015 Author Share February 22, 2015 I got the first one. Connected the water line but it was leaking. Did I need anything else with it?
Coral Hind February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 Did you put the brass insert in the tubing?

Coral Hind February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 Somethings missing. You should have put the nut on the tubing, then put the tapered brass ferrule on the tubing, then push in the insert, then install all that onto the adapter.
edress714 February 22, 2015 Author Share February 22, 2015 That's what I did. There's three parts to this and did as you said.

xabo February 22, 2015 Share February 22, 2015 Make sure that when you cut the tubing, it's an even clean cut all the way around. You could try wrapping some Teflon tape around the tubing also. Personally.......I use the BRS type as only one piece and it's simpler.
