Weird, wonder if maybe there was something in the rubber?

I'm guessing that the cup was filthy, you installed the swabbie which cleaned the neck, making the skimer run more efficiently and it caused the volcano in the picture?

Cup was cleaned before the install..........definitely running more efficiently

I look at it like its not really running more efficiently (maybe a slight amount) but all the crud that's on the neck normally, ends up in the cup filling it faster. I can't run mine because it cloggs the air intake which is connected to my skimmer cup. I wish someone would help me figure a way of preventing this but I am stumped, and want to be able to use my swabbie.

How's it doing now?

Doing great......Just to note, I wasn't complaining. I've adjusted the skimmer to run a little wetter so I'll wait and see.

I have the Deltec AP702 and the intakes tend to clog due to the all the air, dust, salt creep etc. being sucked in. I "shoot" fresh water through the air intakes daily and that seems to help.

The introduction of another task seems to make a swabbie redundant.

Keeping the intakes clean does not keep the neck clean........if I'm understanding what you're saying.

I understand, but the concept of a swabbie is less work, you don't have to clean the neck or collection cup as frequently. By adding another task, if having to shoot water down your intake daily, it's not hands off anymore, IMO.

That's why I am not using it because it gets skim coated in the tubing after day one and foam in it within hours. Plus the cup fills all the way in one day and I need a skim locker, once I fix the clogging situation. It doesn't seem to affect the performance but I have to take the cup off to clean out the fitting that holds the tubing on the collection cup because the 90 will get clogged quick.

Exactly.

I'm getting ready to hook up a swabbie and a super locker, hope I don't run into any of these issues.

I don't want to do that because if I forget to empty it for one day my cup will empty back into the tank and spew tank water on electrical equipment. And the air injector on the mazzies are LOUD when disconnected that's for sure.
