I am looking for 120 pounds of Tropic Eden Reefflakes.  Premium seems to be out of stock.

Cue Metallica's "Enter Sandman"........no bare bottom for this tank!!!!!

Premium's been out of it for some time now. When I was looking for it several months back, I feel like I stumbled across a thread somewhere saying is may have been discontinued. I was quite bummed as that stuff had absolutely no dust whatsoever.

Have you used this sand before and liked it? I've seen a lot of negative reviews on it

If I cannot find Reefflake; Carib special grade is an excellent alternative.  I have previously used both with no problems.  From what I remember, there were a number of complaints about hair algae growing on the substrate.  If a hobbyist is having trouble with hair algae growing on the substrate, it does not matter was substrate is used, sand or bare bottom.  It is not the substrates fault that nutrient levels are out of control.

I have tropic eden miniflakes in mine for a year and they have not hardened. Reefflakes is even bigger grain so I doubt they would either.
