Neto November 15, 2014 November 15, 2014 Some of my sps corals turned very pale after switching from a diy led fixture to a 6x24w power module. I assume this was caused due to a light shock? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BowieReefer84 November 17, 2014 November 17, 2014 A 6x24w powermodule is extremely powerful. Def get a PAR meter to determine where your numbers are at. I know some people will throw in an actinic bulb to actually lower the overall PAR to the numbers they want. I would start with 2 bulbs then 4 then 6. I don't think cutting back the photoperiod is enough, but really you want to cut back the overall intensity and ramp that up.

Im turning off two bulbs and leaving 4 for the moment.. I also noticed that the alk line for the dosing pump got loose and ALK dropped to 5!!! in just two days.... Could this also play a role in pale corals?
