Tommy September 13, 2014 September 13, 2014 Im thinking about finally pulling the trigger for my big tank , been looking at either the NUVO SR-80 or SR-100 AIO until I found this Cadlights series which I really like . Keep in mine that I am very new to this hobby ( about 6 months) so I'm looking for simplicity as I am not a very handy person either …and I think with the Cadlights i can have a sump which is a plus …Any input is greatly appreciated . below is the link to the Cadlights tank http://www.cadlights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47&products_id=250
pizzaguy September 13, 2014 September 13, 2014 I have a cad lights custom 135 gallon cube rimless. I'm very pleased with my tank.
lutz123 September 14, 2014 September 14, 2014 I seem to remember when I was researching tanks that their customer service stinks. Search and see though because I could be wrong. SCA and Deep Sea Aquatics are supposed to be good - as is Miracles.
epleeds September 14, 2014 September 14, 2014 I had that tank for a while. Really liked it. Silicon wasn't perfect and the plumbing I would have liked a 3rd hole, but overall for the price it can't be beat
eddiev0008 September 14, 2014 September 14, 2014 Tommy, See my post I'm in the exact same boat as you are! I'm pretty new to the hobby I'm in nova I was about to order the SR60 cause I really like the shallow look and I like the fact is a all in one since my last tank was a Nuvo 30 with good success. I was looking at the deep blue tanks but I would have to purchase a stand and sump and pumps ect. Not sure as I myself am not that handy! I been told that having a sump is really beneficiary for the tank so today I also saw the 70 artisian ii from cad and looks like it could work for me the tank with sump, stand and skimmer is at 1400 not to bad so maybe we should talk and see what would work for both of us . I still have a month to make up my mind as I haven't moved in to my condo. What I know for sure that I don't want to go over 70 gallons due to my time at work ect. So let's chat and get more feedback from the guys here
Tommy September 14, 2014 Author September 14, 2014 Definitely man ..I think we are in the same exact boat …my biggest tank now is the nano cube 28 and 3 other pico nanos ..lol . I think for the value and modern look, the Cadlights is the much better option, the only problem is I haven't seen 1 in person and I have seen the Nuvo SR at LFSs. Im about the same time frame as you as far as pulling a trigger on it so we will see , My main thing is I love modern looking tank and not like the science project look lol . PM me if u ever have any other ideas or suggestions ..later bro!
seanoli September 27, 2014 September 27, 2014 I have an 8G Mini from CAD Lights and I really like it. My gripes about the tank wouldn't affect you because they mostly have to do with the dimensions of the display area. The silicone job is great. The rear chamber could have used a little more thought in terms of flow but it was easy to modify. From my experience, customer service gets a B. You definitely have to stay on top of them if you want something taken care of but ultimately, they'll do it for you. Good luck!
