Huly May 30, 2014 May 30, 2014 This is kind of a cool website I came across today. You can track sharks all over the world. www.ocearch.org
Happyfeet May 30, 2014 May 30, 2014 Thanks for sharing this is really cool! We did something similar, but land developers used it to check the land to see if any T&E species where living on a land they wanted to develop and then would go out at night with a GPS locator and blast 'em so they could develop.

"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth."

Origami May 30, 2014 May 30, 2014 Cool. The first one I clicked on was Genie - a nearly 15-foot White Shark tagged off of Cape Cod but tracked to the Virginia Eastern Shore just 5 days ago.
sen5241b May 30, 2014 May 30, 2014 Are we going to be getting some rain? UH, yeah. Can you help me with my boat this weekend? Divers claim this shark showed appreciation. http://www.whitesharkvideo.com/blog/shark-rescue-with-epic-diving
Huly May 30, 2014 Author May 30, 2014 Yeah I think I will look at this before any beach adventure lol It is kind of cool to see what is out there. Growing up on the ocean we honestly never thought about it LOL IOP (Isle of Palms SC) has a huge Tiger Shark right now.
smallreef May 31, 2014 May 31, 2014 I've always realized the shark population off of the coast, growing up in Jacksonville, FL we had the migrations of sharks off of the coast... You could see the black mass of sharks right off of the ledge coming from the south up past us to South Carolina from the international space station (okay pictures from there, since I've never been up there to see it myself)...many many sharks in the sea,lol

You all should check out Mary Lee (16 1/2 ft; 3,500 lbs) and look at her 2 year ping history. Zoom in on Jacksonville, FL and look how close she came to shore in January 2013. She hangs out a lot off the coast of SC, where my parents live, and they told me about this website a couple years ago. It's really cool because when she got very close to Jacksonville Beach, the head of the research group who lives in Utah received an email alert and called the Jacksonville Beach police to let them know they had a huge great white in the breakers right off shore and to make sure nobody was in the water. From his home in Utah he was able to let them know when she had moved farther away from shore. Here is a link to an article about it. http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/400744/matt-soergel/2013-01-08/great-white-shark-reaches-jacksonville-beach-surf-break I check out the tracker whenever I am at the Outer Banks to make sure none of them are swimming near me. Very cool website though. I played around with it, and I saw Genie first as well!
smallreef June 1, 2014 June 1, 2014 Lol Isaac... I never knew that there weren't sharks all over every beach! I just assumed all beaches had sharks...I never got to see a great white in Jax, but living there for over 15 years we swam with alot of the smaller sharks, you just made sure not to go to close to the ledge, lol (which is fairly far out) ....even surfing (we called it surfing, it was more like body boarding with short boards, unless there was a hurricane, lol) once I got bumped by a small 3 ft shark who came fairly close to the beach...
