Just wonderin' I've only named one species of fish -- porc puffers. Whenever I have one, I name it Walter. Had a couple years go, but lost them to bad luck / bad setup -- pump & during migration :(

You can only name sharks after me!

No fish that ever does something stupid can be named after me!

here are all the names for my fish ......

Stupid (any fish that does something I don't like)

JackA$$! (any fish that picks on another fish or coral)

Moron (any fish that doesn't let the cleaner shrimp clean him.)

and of course....

&)$*@#)*#@ (insert profanity here)

This is a special label given to those fish that seem to think the water is clearer on the other side of the tank.

Byron

My kids name one or two.

One of my little clowns was named by the wholesaler due to a certain behavior. The behavior persists to this day and I am quite sure her name is all that is necessary to describe this little A. nigripes, her name is "Cujo."

Random people name my fish and it bugs the heck out of me. When I had my big tank people would come in and go "DORI!" and I just wanted to smack them! Having random people name my fish just irritates me like crazy!!

I don't name my fish and I refuse to recognize the names my wife gives them because I don't want to get attached in that way.

I do name my tanks though. "The Kingdom of Steve-a-stan" is the only place in the house where I am in charge. The rest of it, well, I just live here and follow the rules.

I am like Chip- you name it and it is a death sentance. I had a friend name a yellow tang I had- within 6 months it was dead- Named it mr bubbles- not very original.

If I name em, they die. Have not been able to stop the wife from naming them, she started before I knew it was bad luck... and for her it isn't a curse. Last fish I named was "norm" when I got a male clown... he hit the carpet in less than a month.

my first fish, yellow clown goby, is squishy, for obvious reasons. Clowns have the usual names. emerald crab is oscar the grouch. no names for anyone else yet.
