Is this a normal splitting process or is it dying and I should remove it.

It's about 8-9 inches full expanded and last week been hiding and shriviling up into nothing. Today it had it's brown crap out of it's mouth with it wide open.

It's done this before but never this long shriveled up.

Temp -79

A-nitrites-nitrate are around zero

Salinety around .27

Lights 3 kessil 360 and 200watts of t-5

My small bta is also closed but opens up and mouth is closed.

Thanks in advance.

That doesn't sound normal. My RBTAs never do that...Are they wild caught or captive bred?

Do you feed your anemones? They typically do not need to be fed separately.

How long have you had it...what kind of lights is it under

Do you normally feed it? If so..what and how often

And of course what is your salinity, nitrate, and phosphate readings?

It's been in for 1.5 months. Started acting up once I got a torch n another small bubble tip.

Plus just got some clowns who liked it. Might have stressed it.. either way after reading some info.. I pulled it from under the rock. Required moving 40% of rocks. Moved its dead looking body to right under the light while I redid my rocks.

It opened up and now moved it to a less suicidal dark dungeon. It's fully bloomed

  • 1 month later...

Too soon for an RBTA means it was probably too soon for an Elegance, FWIW.

YHSublime - correct

tank parameters are still swaying too much for these critters to really enjoy. From lights, to new fish, to water quality.
