I had a problem with the first pump causing surges, but I've got it sorted now.  This is what I get out of the skimmer after about 10 days.  Keep in mind, this is post felt sock.

 

I never hear anyone talk about the RO DC powered skimmers, so I thought I'd post.  I know some people think having DC pump on a skimmer is useless, but I've used the adjustability quite a bit, and I love it.  The only downside is that there is no independent air control.

looks horrible, in a good way. hopefully that means it's doing a darn good job for you? water clear, tank smells pleasant?

Yeah. It's doing a great job. Especially considering how much I feed and the punt of fish I have. It's a pretty heavily loaded 90 at this point.

Wow, it is good stuff.  I clean mine early morning everyday right after my lady boss left so there is no complain from her.  lol.
