Might be some kind of sponge or something.  I have all kinds of weird blob-like stuff like that in mine too, mostly on the underside of rocks where there is not too much light.

It was less than 1/2 long, no more pics, it was gone this morning.

Honestly, it looks like some sort of beetle or insect with that leg hanging out and all. Was it moving around when you first saw it?

I can't see it very well, but twice now I've had fly pupae in my newly imported live rock. Once it was alive and moved slowly across my tank. The next morning the pupa aas empty. I guess my point is not to always assume it belongs underwater. You may never know!

The stink bugs in my house are attracted to my DT lights. I find them dead in the tank all the time. Glad they arent hurting anything

that was my first thought....its a beetle or some sort ...lol...well we know from past posts that outside critters that get into dry LR left outside can survive in the tank for a period of time...it must have crawled into the tank or fell in at some point...I would be most curious to know if you see it again...
